I got 11s on my cheap dearmond, started out with 10s but the 11s just sounded better, 12s would even be better but im too lazy for all that work. I found that I could actually lower the action after I put the 11s on, and it was just as easy to play.

Thanks! Sometimes, though, my thumb is all thumbs... It's much easier to fingerpick on my acoustic with mediums. The Silvertone has electric 10s on it now, but I'm going try some 11s.
