I'm happy that they not making the same "shit" forever. Making different styled music is sellout? I think A Thousand Suns is a great album, I like every song on it.

@lpfanhun To change style is one thing but honestly if you can continue to appeal to such a widespread community of people then why change styles? You lose a shitload of the fans that followed you from day one like myself. They can change up their sound but could have still stayed true to the LP sound that they started off with and I don't hear any of that in their new stuff. As a musician you add onto what makes you unique not take away and change to an entirely different style.

If you're a musician you'd be able to hear the shit tons of recycled riffs and drum parts that are in their new music, what i've done and new divide have the EXACT same chord progression. I'm sorry but they are huge sellouts. They think they're being cool by being a different genre all of a sudden but I miss the old linkin park that didn't have a genre you couldn't put a label on their sound now you can they're "ALTERNATIVE"

Most fans/people never understand the process of being in a band that's been there for more than 10+ years, you really have to reconsider the term "sell out". Some bands age and as they age their "sound" changes because they become better at their instruments/not as amateur as they were (but sometimes that "amateur sound" is what's appealing to fans) as they age they listen to more music/more influences or just have

Fans will get bored and reviews will say they sound boring and it's still the same crap from 3 albums ago and the label will drop them. Just look at what you hear on the radio (sure some songs are nice) but there are a lot that sound boring and the same shit recycled. Usually they have an idea/concept of what the album will be. The type of music/genre/style

@FARHANALGIFARI well but then you can look at a great band like Chevelle who has now released 6 albums without hindering or straying from their original sound sure each album isn't identical but if you put their latest album "hats off to the bull" side by side with their first "point #1" you can still tell it's the same band. Obviously the quality of recording will improve but the distinct Chevelle sound is still there.

I just wish Linkin Park hadn't changed everything that they were originally known for. Guarantee, if you were to show someone who's never heard of Linkin Park a song off their latest album "a thousand suns" and one from either "meteora" or "hybrid theory" they would never guess that it's the same band.

Madrid not so good, Rock am Ring and maybe Rock in Rio was better? Live in Texas... It's too surreal and doesn't sound like live which is pretty much a mood killer. LP ftw though, ordered their 2011 merch. Gonna order more in the New Year :D

@DerTeufel0707 Whole band/vocal covers. It's just one of those songs that are so distinctive, said the same thing to nirvana covers. Nah covers can be cool as long as you don't try so hard to copy the singer's style, band wise.. you just need a good balanced sound. But i prefer covers that are done in a different version, more artistic input but still inconsistent to the original. I'd really rather hear a horrible version than a cover.
