The main reason Libertarians (I assume you mean the ones running under the official Libertarian Party ticket) have so much trouble getting recognized, let alone voted into office, is because the REPUBLICANS and DEMOCRATS, using the FEC, have placed so many restrictions on ballot access for third parties, but not themselves of course.
The third party candidates have to acquire so many thousands of signatures just to get on the ballot. That costs money in itself, so that's less money (and time) for advertising and other promotion. The big boys get their campaigns financed by tax dollars, corporations, and the big media always mention their names anyway.
Not to mention the political establishment works with the big corporate media to either ignore or discredit third parties entirely. No. In a closed primary, you have to be registered with the party for which the candidate you are going to vote for is running in. In other words: REGISTER REPUBLICAN TO SUPPORT RON PAUL. This doesn't mean you have to support all Republicans, but it is a formality in order to support RON PAUL!
No, actually some states you can be registered as an Independent and can still vote Republican. You will be automatically converted over to the Party you vote for, however. People underestimate Ron Paul just as they did Goldwater. Goldwater completely changed the republican party even though he lost against Johnson. Ron Paul carries the same enthusiastic following that appeals to libertarian minded suburbanites. If history repeats itself, then the next GOP candidate will be a populist version of Ron Paul just as Reagan was after Goldwater.

Goldwater, Jr. knew that Dr. Paul couldn't win. He said that on the news. He should have campaigned for Romney and then we would have won the election. I admire Dr. Paul but I am slightly more socially conservative and I feel that he gets too rapped up in conspiracy theories and as much as I am a constitutionalist, he puts the constitution before common sense, and that was not the intent of the founding fathers.

See, it's not about the party for people like Goldwater. Paul is not anything close to a modern-day republican--he's more like a libertarian. Going with Romney makes no sense unless all you care about is the party succeeding--which is a terrible philosophy anyway. Obama might be a blessing in disguise, because if republicans go back to Goldwater conservatism, and then take back Washington, good things should happen. They need to put aside social crap and build with strong free-market economics.

No. In a closed primary, you have to be registered with the party for which the candidate you are going to vote for is running in. In other words: REGISTER REPUBLICAN TO SUPPORT RON PAUL. This doesn't mean you have to support all Republicans, but it is a formality in order to support RON PAUL!

No, actually some states you can be registered as an Independent and can still vote Republican. You will be automatically converted over to the Party you vote for, however. It is different in each state. Go to Ron Paul's site for more details. Just to make it easiest, I recommend everyone just register Republican for the time being, and if you want to switch, you can do so after the elections.

Well I just checked out Fred Thompson's site. His response to Micheal Moore sums up his capacity to lead. He states that Fidel Castro put a journalist in a mental hospital, completely ignoring the atrocities of Abu Grahib. I would have thought he would be sharper than that. Voters want answers on these issues and see through these distractions. As I said, if Fred was brave enough to speak the truth and stop reading the script he would have support too.

I don't see a need to split The Party in this crucial year. We need to vote for someone ELECTABLE! Ron Paul doesn't stand a chance. His policy of glorified cut-and-run is an egregious error. Nixon was one of the greatest men who ever lived. His only crime is having gotten caught. He was a Foreign Policy master and was willing to do all that was necessary to defend this country. Thompson was trying to do what he could to preserve the IMAGE of the PRESIDENCY, not Nixon.

Not at all: I think prisoners should be executed. However, when it comes to Nixon and his compatriots what they did was for the greater good. You can go on believing Nixon was evil, but that's just more Liberal propaganda. Were mistakes made? Yes. However, he did what had to be done for the greater good. THAT'S an incredible leader; one uninhibited by ethics.

Democracy Now with Amy Goodman is on that and many other shows. The focus is on the "world" - bringing it to us, as our MSM [MainStreamMedia] will not show us what is going on due to govt censoring of our news.
If we could get a program about Dr Paul on that channel - it would reach lots of people that refuse to watch the stupid network shows.

Dr. Paul, Kennedy and Lincoln all were/are pro gold/silver standard and none believe(d) in the fiat money system, which makes the wealthy bankers money for nothing. Indeed the first two truly for-the-country presidents were offed. No doubt if he got elected he also would be offed but the knowledge base of the masses has grown exponentially and they won't take it lying down.

Way to go Ron!!! I just donated another $5 bucks to your campaign. Now, all you supporters do the same, C'mon. It's crazy that so many people will drop $5 or $10 dollars at Starbucks for a coffee fix, yet hesitate in donating to a truly worthwhile cause like Ron Paul's Presidency. Do the smart thing and send a buck or two or more! It's up to us cuz you know he's not getting money from the elites and corporations.

Ron Paul could unite America again, if only people could hear his message. He speaks the truth, is a straight shooter, and has never wavered on his views (because he has yet to be wrong really, so why would he have to?). I am registering as Republican so I can vote him in the primaries, and for the Presidency! There is still some hope for our country.

ATTENTION: They have stopped the counters on all of Ron's Video's. Everyone needs to go to customer service center and complain. It's a pain to find,because you have to go through a tedious process to get to it, but I think that it's worth it. I was going to post a web link but unfortunatly they won't let ya do that. Lets flood them with complaints and show'em who's boss.
