I do the "three random lines" challenge at school to pass time. :D I have my friend/classmate draw three random lines, then they hand it back to me to draw something from it. Once I'm done, I give my artist's sig and write who's it to. Then I give it to them to give it back to me if they don't want it, or keep it. o3o

How do you not smudge your drawings? do you keep your hand raised off the paper, everything I draw ends up smudged because my hand rubs the pencil!

@Drawingyoung Being Mark Crilley, pfft, yeah he can avoid smudging, being the god of drawing, but for an everyday drawer, I'd suggest you put a piece of paper on top of your hand while drawing, or wearing a long sleeve. Hope this helped :D

I need some help. I love drawing, and especially manga, but I've never really gotten too seriously into it, and I have no idea what each of these pencils are for... I have F, H, 2H, 4H, HB, B, 2B, 3B, 5B, and 8B. All I want to know is which of these is best for drawing lightly, and which is best for darkening the lines?

@Unkn0wnEfficiency F, would be the lightest, and 8B is the darkest. The higher the number, the darker the pencil. i hope that helped a little bit. :)

DONT start with manga though, you'l cripple yourself if you want to branch out into other things later. its easier going from drawing real things to manga than manga to real life (i struggle with real looking people because i learnt manga proportions first)

@snappleandgravy drawing takes hours and hours of practice. my advice as someone who's learning how to draw, is to focus on one aspect, say faces (which covers many important sub-aspects, such as eyes, noses, hair, ears, expressions, and mouths) master faces (including all the sub aspects) then focus on shading the faces you drew, you'll get better with every drawing. then move onto hands (focus on all different types of hands, stubby, chubby, bony, female and male)....

@HaxD64 READ BELOW FIRST, once you've mastered all sorts of hands, focus on shading, then move onto body shapes and sizes, master that, focus on shading, so on and so forth, eventually you'll become an amazing artist, I myself prefer backgrounds and scenry, so I focus on that, although I'm not nearly as good as Mark Crilley, I find myself to be okay. and always remember, an artists biggest critic is yourself. I hope this helped in any way.
