I kinda see it as the government requiring our health records to be centralized "for your safety". Then we all get a medical number that we give the doctor in any ER. Maybe a card to carry. But you have the option to get a chip instead. As more people get the chip the government comes out with a mandate that to get health care you must be chipped. After all we will have government health care by then and it is cheaper to chip someone than dealing with lost cards.
Now that 99% of america is chipped then why not get away from printing money. And if you are wanted for questioning by the "police" well no problem they can track your chip. The chip becomes the center of how we survive whether it is healthcare, crime, or money.
@williamentriken chips cause tumors. Didn't verichip tell you about the tumor-ridden chipped cats and dogs? Oh well, I expect you'll see that as good business sense for hospitals, drugs industry & funeral services -- too many people anyway right? As long as they live to an age of useful slavery, beyond that they're just "useless eaters".
Who benefits from the chip being accepted and used widely? The chip makes anonymity in purchasing and selling impossible, making it very easy for governments to extract tax dollars and corporations to better understand the demographic for their products. Every supposed advancement in technology that can be exploited by governments to better manipulate and track populations has been exploited. The chip will be no different.
