Just one thing. Pyramid told he rescues people from the wasteland, to bring them a (fake) good life, that they couldn't have without him. "You have no schools, you have mechs". Ok, I got it. But what about all those fuckin big scorpions? Tell me what, he has the most freaking defensive (and attacking) robots, but he is not responsible for all those smaller mechs, that, apart from their size, made a carnage at a lot of villages, including Trip's? There's something there. Was him entirely sincere?

He was obviously a wealthy man before the war who created pyramid to be, as he said, an ark, and he was capturing people to help them by putting them in this virtual paradise. the game is suggesting that our reality is manufactured.
This game had an awesome begining... Then, it fails... You never miss a jump... Combo gets repetitive... Only 3 characters... And the ending seems like they change the writer in the middle of the development... I love the "Journey to the West" tale and what it seemed a great adaptation it ended sucking... Shame...

Andy Serkis, not only provides the excellent mo-cap and voice work for Monkey but gives a genuinely emphatic and moving performance and pyramid at the end. The old and decayed version of himself, blinded to reality, was disturbing - in a good way. I wish they'd had some emotional climax between Trip and Monkey before this scene but clearly the game was more focussed on the slavery relationship than that of the two protagonists. Fair play. (Nice one for Serkis for taking the industry seriously)

I was under the impression the the mechs were built as weapons during the war that ended everything. Pyramid seems to be separate from them, maybe built by Gollum, to serve this exact purpose after the end was inevitable. I'm pretty sure the mechs are not working for Pyramid.

I may be wrong as it has been a while since I read about the story. The basis of Enslaved is VERY similar to Journey to the West, except its about a post apocalyptic land.

DAMN THE STORY IS GOOD!!!! I am depressed how little games with good story-lines as this are in the gaming world! I for the first and foremost want to enjoy the plot,characters and i admit that i need good graphics and a solid game-play. But i can live without it, but if there aint a good story there then im off to find a better one!

First off, there only a couple things that resemble it, robots have taken over, and people are living good lives in a simulation, oh dear god call the lawyers for copyright infringement. you know the matrix is really similar to something called ghost in a shell which came first. And second, avatar was a blue version of pocahontas, does that make it a terrible movie?

The ending is wierd if you think about it. If pyramid controls the robots, and the robots a capturing people to bring them to pyramid, why the giant robot lazer death scorpions? I absolutely loved this game, but I felt let down by the ending. Not because it doesn't resolve anything, but because the first thing I thought when I saw it was "This is just The Matrix!" I was kinda bummed out.

The ending was terrible because it did not build on Trip and Monkeys relationship, which is why I played it. Trip was an amazing character, There are some expressions on her face that have never been done in video games ever... literally...ever. If the ending would of been done right, it would of been an amazing game overall

DAMN THE STORY IS GOOD!!!! I am depressed how little games with good story-lines as this are in the gaming world! I for the first and foremost want to enjoy the plot,characters and i admit that i need good graphics and a solid game-play. But i can live without it, but if there aint a good story there then im off to find a better one!

@MTburner33 There is no good or bad, thats what the ending tries to show us. Pyramid saves people from dying and gives us a life, but they forces us to live a fake life. Good goal, bad way :P

@DrTrollable really, your REALLY going to compare this game to the matrix. First off, there only a couple things that resemble it, robots have taken over, and people are living good lives in a simulation, oh dear god call the lawyers for copyright infringement. you know the matrix is really similar to something called ghost in a shell which came first. And second, avatar was a blue version of pocahontas, does that make it a terrible movie?

Would you rather live in an uncomfortable real world, or a pleasurable fake one? What are your principles? When it comes down to it, it all depends on your life and circumstance. If something is preventing you from living a full life then this would appeal to you, and Trip is screwing you over big time for her beliefs. Its an old philosophy question with no quick answer. The ending is wierd if you think about it. If pyramid controls the robots, and the robots a capturing people to bring them to pyramid, why the giant robot lazer death scorpions? Why abduct people by force in the first place? Doesn't make much sense to me. If I've missed something then please tell me.

@ApetureTestSubject If you think by the way that there were no many people in Monkey and Trip's world, we can accept that Pyramid would grow enough to support all the humans left in the world. Thinkin in that way, people would need to be forced to go to the Pyramid, because they probably wouldn't know and believe how "good" it was there. The big scorpions would be like shields to people that think against all the Pyramid idea, like Monkey and Trip. Well, i think that's the answer. Just a theory.

I mean okay, freeing all this people is very important, but she killed him out of vengeance, although it was kinda clear he had nothing to do with the death of her father
It was said that the mechs are remains from the wars which destroyed civilization - the mechs did wipe out Trips village, but what reason would pyramid have to control them if he, as he said, hates them?
And he would have no reason to kill so many people
So pyramid can't be the antagonist at all...?

I absolutely loved this game, but I felt let down by the ending. Not because it doesn't resolve anything, but because the first thing I thought when I saw it was "This is just The Matrix!" I was kinda bummed out.

@Kryptonater1994 No, the game was THE SHIT... it was awesome, mainly for the cut scenes... They have some amazing facial animation going on... The ending was terrible because it did not build on Trip and Monkeys relationship, which is why I played it. Trip was an amazing character, There are some expressions on her face that have never been done in video games ever... literally...ever. If the ending would of been done right, it would of been an amazing game overall

@skeetskeetskeet420 not really, the game had cheesy cut scenes and the gameplay was aweful, this game should have been brought out on the ps2 or some other console, not a 3rd gen. In fact the game with the most expressions in a game is either final fantasy or red dead redemption/GTA 4
