  • 1:45 so soothing and refreshing... i love it! great job!

  • 0:14 Vivaldi's summer

  • Very nice! 5/5.

  • 1:05 I see someone's heard Vivaldi's Gloria

  • Great job!!! Keep going!! but I notice something: When you are playing 16th notes, it sounds a bit "robotic". This is because of the quantize function. You should explore vienna strings...!!! For example, violin solo is the most realistic violin I've found. Greetings!!

  • Do you have sheet music for this?

  • Vivaldi Influence, You are a crack. GReat Composer.

    Ciao

  • That's as realistic as you will get with EW, if you used Vienna you may come closer. None the less it was very enjoyable, my favorite still remains conquest. Congrats man.

Feel free to view my video "Evil Elves" that I just posted.

    Happy new year!

  • Wow. very nice job! I use eastwest too and I haven't been able to orchestrate this good of a sound yet.

  • A great composition.. you borrowed alot of stuff and made it your own. REALLY great. :)

  • Nice job!!! Really cool arrangements/compositions :) I would have liked an extended ending on this one though. But really, marvelous job!!!

  • 1:10 also someone's been listening to some Beethoven :)

No 7 is the peak point in history of music for me :)

Great work Mr. Lloyd. Thank you for sharing!

  • @kflynt2006 VERY GOOD SIR I am truly impressed!!! I was waiting for SOMEONE to point that out and sure enough your the only one! I had to put that timing in this song being that Beethoven's 7th is my favorite symphony of all time!

  • @kflynt2006

Rhythm is same that the one in Beethoven's 7 Symphony Allegretto. But not more. The way the melody moves is completely different

  • Bravissimo ! :))

  • I love it. Its truly great.

Did you compose this? As well as putting in the sounds?

Then youre right up there with the big ones!!

  • What I think: It is absolutley fantastic!! (That's the only words you need)

  • And there is no Continuo to speak of. A very neccesary part of Baroque composition. I would get a synth that has it.

  • I hear more Vivaldi/Corelli than Bach, besides Bach wholesale covered Viv back in the day.

and JS got all the credit, until the rediscovery of Vivaldi in the 20th century

  • yes we all rediscovered the 500 times he composed one Concerto.

  • @Malloyism -painfully true, but what a BEAUTIFUL concerto! -lol .

Hey man I'm listening to Vivaldi's L'estro Armonico - pretty diverse pieces, actually.

I think Viv's main contribution was dynamism and soloistic virtuosity.general ass-kickin' in 18th century.

  • @will4ward Really?? Cus I hear more Paganini more than Vilvaldi and Bach. It sounds like one of Paganini's Caprices with like a backing orchestra playing along, but then again that's what I hear.

  • Love it :D

  • amazing my friend, continue working...bests

  • Great work

    Appreciate this piece a lot

I can hear really beautiful melody. Structure of the theme complex and interesting to follow.

This is NOT stuff created with symphobia or another sample library with heavy horns and theme that I can't even remember after listening.

EWQL is good instrument, and i can hear that person with talent own this instrument

    Keep on composing

    Solo violin is very beautiful)

  • I'm sorry. I read now that guitars2112 had already written the same thing I said about Bach.

  • really nice :)

But here ( 0:21 ) are the first 4 and a half measures of Bach "Violin Concerto in A minor N.1 BWV 1041".

I like the song, I hope you will not be stopped ;)

  • You have composed a captivating piece, full of verve and energy. I love how you've made EWQL sound! A tutorial on how you sequenced even one measure of this piece would be appreciated by a lot of struggling EWQL users like myself. Great work!

  • This Solo violin is Wonderful

  • AMAZING. Great song! Great sound.

  • wonderfully PERFECTO!!! the perfect music for writers like me, reviewing his 12th books for publication!! :)

  • Impessive ! What movies do you score?!

  • You did a really good job! I'm sure that in hindsight, knowing they're samples, one could probably find some flaws with it, but if I just heard this playing somewhere I would never in a million years assume it wasn't being performed live. You rock.

  • Are you using EWQL as a plugin for another program?

  • dude this sounds Ammmmmaaazzzziiiinnnnggg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Sorry about that.

I have one question for you my fellow composer. What DAW did you use and do you know where I can buy tutorials to learn this stuff. Even more specific, what Tutorials helped you get this far and schooling if any?

Im a jazz pianist but i want to get into this type of composition.

Any addvice and info is greatly appreciated. Thanks and GOD Bless friend.

    dju_artistic@yahoo.com

  • @filmcomposition Did you get the answer about the DAW. Seems like Ableton Live or Protools would do something like this with the EWQLSOG or EWQLSOP. Let me know.

  • NOPE NEVER EVEN GOT A RESPONSE. SOME PEOPLE ARENT INTO SHARING. EVEN IF AFTER SOMEONE SHARED WITH THEM. I USE PROTOOLS AND I HAVE SOME EASTWEST STUFF BUT I JUST WANTED TO KNOW WHAT EXACTLY WAS HIS OR HER SET UP AND WHO TRAINED THEM OR WHAT COLLEGE DID THEY ATTEND. IM STUDY FILM AT UNLV. THANKS MATRIXATE FOR THE REPLY

  • @filmcomposition I hear ya. I've spent some time wrapping my head around this realm of digital art...here's my 2 cents: Ableton's Live and AVID's Protools...own and use both...that's my bottom line. Neither one is better than the other as a whole...they both do their job. Hit me up on Skype...my background is classical music.

Oh, here's my last cent...LATENCY. That is what slows me down when trying to compose. I can write music but I like to compose on the fly...which is why I own a real piano.

  • wait so you made this using this program and it like plays what you've written for you? if this is case where do i get it??!

  • @tawandanebula Not exactly, these are samples, best called ( articulations) there live instruments recorded and able to play on a midi controller much like a keyboard.

  • amazing! when ever i direct a movie during that time period, ill will remember this and i want you to score the film!

  • Best composition i've ever heard with ewql, thanks for sharing :)

  • I know you've heard a lot of compliments already, but bravo! Bravo, bravo! As a classically trained orchestral violist, I've played and heard a LOT of Baroque music. This is the BEST string emulation I've heard in a long while. I just got ESQL Gold, and this is a great motivation to tinker with it.

  • mmm Bach.. it´s ok.. hardworking even if it´s a copy it´s bach... you know you should make you own work, too much talent, work hard man, congratulations.

  • Hi SteveMLloyd, I was wondering - I only write in traditional musical notation (on stave). Does EWQL have this function? I am illiterate when it comes to all these buttons and switches demonstrated in these videos on YOutube. Presently I write orchestral music on Cakewalk but the sound is terrible (MIDI). Also, if my music is already in Cakewalk, can I trasfer it to EWQL if it has a musical notes function? Thanks!

  • that was very realistic sounding good job man. Do you mind telling me what violin samples you used from EQSO?

  • All I can say is, fuck yeah.

  • You've got some neat graphics for your compositions- and I like this one a lot. Good work! Do you write professionally?

  • Very great composition. Congratulations.

I'm going to subscribe to your channel, this is both a very beautiful music to hear and a vzery instructive material for newbies in music compositions like me.

    Thanks for the great work.

  • Hey Steve, I really liked this :) How did you get the solo violin to slur (or sound like it)? I've been trying to figure that out for quite some time now.

  • good way to plagiarize bach ! (Y)

  • That comb. of composers sound like Castlevania

  • Sounds like Vivaldi at 1:04

    Beethoven at 1:14

    Bach at 0:22.

    Three Genius.

    0:00-3:00 Looks like Steve MLloyd.

    The fourth genius.

  • dude... you are the man. I love your compositions... and i love how you take advantage of this bit of technology. This is definitely going to be added to me arsenal of sounds.

  • Veeeeery nice!

  • this sounds like four seasons-summer by vivaldi. did u try to remake it or its somthing new

  • bach's violin first concerto...

    nice thugh...

  • Super music! I'm very impressed with both you and EWQL. Keep up the good work and best of luck :)

  • So out of curiosity, do you go to school for music? Or did you teach yourself with books or simply by analyzing scores of Baroque composers?

  • Man. Stop being lazy. This is jaw-droppingly beautiful stuff. I mean, really. And beautifully orchestrated and programmed. I see it's been a while since this was posted.. have you finished it yet??

  • where do you get that harpischord? It sound great.

  • 0:22 I see someone's been listening to some Bach :)

  • HAHAHAHA oh wow you are so right!! How funny.....ooops lol

  • @guitars2112 xaxaxaxaxa

  • @guitars2112 That was actually a pretty normal practice back then, just because Bach also used, does not mean he owned it.

  • @guitars2112 Its more like pure Vivaldi style

  • @celt78 yes rv 522 from vivalvi and some passages from the 4 seasons, but this guy has just made copy paste from some midis

  • @hatecrewsix2 There is no copy and paste here!

  • @guitars2112 No bach exactly vivaldi the first part is a copy of the first movement of rv 522, and other violin concertos from vivaldi

looks like a copy from the l"estro armonico

  • @guitars2112

    Definitely Bach ))

  • Amazing !

  • f***kin awesome...rate 7/5

  • This is why classic music is so great. It is many hundred years old and people still keep on doing new composition.

Just incredible, I didn't know there were still classic composers out there today.

  • It's FANTASTIC!

  • Absolutely outstanding!

I'd happily listen to more of this if you've got it?

  • From Argentina, it s amazing!! You are a great composer!

    This program is incredible!

    anybody has a tutorial??

    see you!

    fan of your chanel

  • When I read ewqlso and baroque in the title I had to check this on out. Nicely done. Now stop being lazy like me lol

  • Which version is this? Silver, gold, platinum? (play edition?) thanks :) I haven't listened to this one in a while and I'm just as stunned as i was the first time!! BRAVO MAESTRO!

  • thank you sir! its a play edition gold and silver

  • Gold and Silver? You upgraded from silver? Just trying to understand what you meant . Thanks .

  • amazing job! XD

  • bravo!!

  • What kind of reverb do you use (and btw awesome work)

  • this is a DSP reverb, that comes directly with EWQL SO, If i have to use aux tracks for a reverb i just use the standerd D-verb which is very low quality but can be fine adjusted to sound a bit better, also putting an eq, and compressor to the D-verb helps the tone a bit, but all in all D-verb sounds terrible if used in solo tracks. If i have to, i make sure i only use D-verb in orchestrations or anything with many tracks to hide the note curve bending.

  • Tip* for film score composers --final mix-- bounce all your insturment midi tracks to audio tracks for volume and EQ, only quantize your stacc or quick up downs. Dont quantize leggatto because you might have to overlap. : )

  • Very inspiring , and god , this sounds so real , i just bought ewqlso gold , i hope i can get this realism !

    Good Work.

  • This is great! Did you write each part and then play them in by keyboard or did u use a program like sibelius and type the notes in and let them play back from that? Please let me know I'm very interested.

  • well i used one of my key boards to write everything down as a map or draft and saved it in pieces, after i learned each section i used EWQL and played every piece useing my controller. It was extreamly difficult hence the reason why i havent finished it yet! Thanks for listening!

  • have you heard of fruity loops studio? it's a program i'm starting to use it lets you type everything in midi wise and then humanize it, check i out might be very useful for your future endeavours

  • impresionant man. It,s sound excelents. But your composition is wonderful. Congratulations friend.

  • Wow..Awesome!

This is totally inspiring to see this sort of talent and vision in our present day.

Do you have any formal training in music theory?

  • no i never went to school for music, i grew up listening to classical and it inspired me to orchestrate : )

  • This is very beautiful composition!

  • I just wonder since when do you start composing

  • i started when i was 18

  • sh*t , only 1 year after me ... I now have 7 years to reach your level ...

    I envy you ...

Besides ,you made a very good song here .

    Good luck and keep continuing

  • I listened to alot of your tracks last night. You make great compositions! Keep it up!

  • thanks

  • Great job ! All my life i dream to compose so good as you! You will be a great star someday ! Glad that i hear your music !

  • HI Steve, I'm an avid follower of your compositions and love every one of them. You're an inspiration to me, and I hope you never stop composing.

On a side note, although you're using baroque instruments in here, the style is a little too lush to be considered baroque ... and since there is no vocals in it, it isn't an opera either ;)

For the first theme, I'm assuming you got it from bach's a minor violin concerto?

  • thank you for listening, once i get alittle free time i'll record the libretto. This is more an influence of Vivaldi.

    Stephen M Lloyd

  • which version is this? Gold? platinum?... sounds amazing.. and its all EWQL????????? are you sure theres no live recordings in there somewhere? :P 10/5 stars!!!!

  • I just busted a classical nut on my modern guitar.

  • how much did EWQL cost you, and does it run your computer down much?

  • I'm subbing. This music is epic.

  • I can not believe it. This stuff is amazing! I dont even have words to describe how I feel about this. I feel like I have so much to say but I am speechless. Congratulations on such a dramatic and inspiring piece of work.

  • thanks dude! Much appricated!!

  • Subbing means subscribing.

  • Amazing I have EWQLSO too. But I focus on the era of romantic music.

Great Baroque song, Very Inspiring composition, Congratulations

  • does it work well for romantic/classical? this video kinda proves it is :P but i would like more opinions and demo's like this :)

  • Incredible.

I never thought I'd see authentic classical or baroque made in the present day.

    Keep composing good music!

  • Absolutely, breath taking, amazing!!

  • Steve.. i'm soo proud of u man,... very happy for u and what you're doing...great use of EWQL.. the Clavinova days are over bro.. That was simply the beginning for u.. With plugins like these, you can really let your creativity go to work... and it shows that you have tremendous talent..big ups

  • This is AMAZING! Such a complex piece, and how you rendered it with the virtual orchestra. This is the best use of EWQL I've ever heard. How many instrument did you load to get all those little articulations?

  • Thanks mormalv! Just 3 min of this peice took me 2 week, useing 48 tracks, and just about every string articulation in the PLAY library.

  • You OBVIOUSLY have the talent and you also have the TOOL (EWQL), Keep Going!

I can only imagine what Mozart or Beethoven could have done with such a great orchestra at their fingertips.... Keep writing. Life is short.

  • thanks rasdebol!! And yeah if mozart or beethoven had this... man all us composers would be out of buisness haha

  • that would be so cool, ...one of a kind

  • wonderful Steve, man you are a genius, this is far the best ewqlso composition i have ever heard... wow... it sounds so realistic, amazing...

  • thank you spec, it is what it is, mabye one day i'll finish it and have my opera singer friends sing to it: ) will see when i want to get back into it! But thank you very much for the comments for the comments
