  • at 1:46 dwayne roloson

  • wut is the stick, i know its a nike bauer

  • i started taping my stick like this for roller coz i was fed up of the tape being chewed up on to bottom of the stick , it worked much better , im thinking of trying it with my ice hockey sticks

  • WHERE DOES HE GET THE TAPE ?

  • Show us how you tape your neck.

    Brooks Orpik says "hello".

Come & get your free candy, Bitch!

  • can someone tell me whats the point of rubing the puck on the stick

  • @TheBvaboi

    It magnetizes it. ;)

  • @pgbruiser thx

  • @TheBvaboi

I was just being sarcastic, buddy.

  • @pgbruiser lol wtf for the week i really tought it was it. like the tape is magnetize to the stick lol thx for telling

  • @TheBvaboi

its to make sure the tape sticks to the blade and is flat and gets rid of all the creases

  • Did you guys see the puck he uses!?!? It's half eaten since he does that trick often!!! You can see it well around 2:10

  • Welcome to Montreal, Mr. Cole... best Hockey city on the planet.

  • @Franklinn2000 aside from Phoenix.

  • Its good when u have money 4 a new stick every game-_-

  • @FhmPhantomzz Why is that? Does the ice damages the bottom of the blade?

  • @JulienDurden simple answer is yes, cause of friction

  • @caketech Thanks ;)

  • Welcome to Montréal! :D

  • he tapes his stick the normal way not like this at least he does now

  • what is that spray

  • i didnt know he used a toe curve 0.09

  • i taped my hockey stick like that its great

  • Its not goalie tape, it's just extra wide black tape I have it in white.

  • What kind of tape is that? i know its black hockey tape but can you get it that thick?

  • @PacaProductions It's goalie tape,

  • I gotta try that some time

  • @RCM2210 Mee too!!

  • sad thing is is that they have plastic tape things that due the exact same thing

  • toe!!!

  • I agree with devlim116. Moreover since when there is only ONE good way to tape a damn hockey Stick ? I mean god damnit guys, you most be really cocky to think that you can do a better job than a guy who have signed a $5.8 Millions contract . Nice Tape Job Cole, its awesome

  • Comment removed

  • i do almost the same thing, but i dont tape the top half of the toe or the rest of the blade

  • is it good?

  • hes in the nhl who cares

  • i would tape my stick that.....if i got a new one every game

  • I think he is just a tad picky haha

  • I would defenatly keep using this tape job if I could get new sticks 2 or 3 times every game but i dont want the bottom of my stick to wear out

  • those socks are hot

  • If you don't want to buy some wider tape it's equivalent to 4 Strips of regular tape.

  • is that tape wider than regular tape or is it just me???

  • @bradonsk8 yea its wider.

  • @HunterSchinabeck u dont have to have it but it just makes the tape stick to the blade better, I Geuss if u wanted to u could buy some somewhere:)

  • @capsguy8 Thanks :)

  • What are the little kits the players get with ther number on them?

  • what does the spray do , do you need it , how dies it help ... PLEASE REPLY

  • K NHL players (yes even the shitty ones) go through about 3 sticks a game average. Players like ovechkin go bout 7. That's why This tape job out lasts the stick, cause the players either pressure crack them or make em too whippy to use

  • @NotSoSnipes thats completely false lol

  • Why does it last forever?

  • @IIExiiLedII i have a bauer vapor x:40..i never used this tape on the ice though....i was thinking about it but i like the way i tape mine...it is similar to p kane's tape job..idk wat to say

  • do u have to use the spray stuff?

  • @IIExiiLedII i play to on concrete...i tried this tape job once...it grinded the whole bottom of my blade and my buddy's. We had to burn some rubber and mold it onto the crack so it would stay together. guys for advice this is really not the greatest tape job

  • @thomas3816 u play on concrete he plays on the ice

  • @8hockeykid8 tell me something i dont know

  • ya but the bottom of the blade is gone in 5 minutes

  • doesnt it eat up the bottom of your blade??

  • guys dont be haters! i use this tape job and it works fine!, besides it does not matter what tape job u are using, every tapejob that not a "silly" job should work fine

  • finally someone who likes black tape! about damn time

  • Huge ass toe curve. That's like oshies and perrons

  • U tape ur stick like that when you have 10 stick a year ..

  • huge toe curve

  • at 2:10 its darth vader time!

  • @zargon220 i dont get it ?

  • thts a pretty nice bauer xxxx w8 a minut u stole it from kessel right?

  • can someone tell me what the difference is between white and black tape on your blade

  • @iPOOberlinwoods on your blade....its better to use black tape because its stronger but black on the handle will wear out ur gloves

  • @DALYNLC ok thanks

  • @iPOOberlinwoods black tape is usually used by forwards so the goalie has a harder time seeing the puck. white tape for defense so your goalie can see the puck better

  • @iPOOberlinwoods nothing its just that black might look better on your stick or white will its all in personal opinion

  • @CanadiansKicksAss123 k thanks

  • @xXSLAT3RN8RXx Yeah I know! He's not doing much right now though were playing New Jersey in 12 minutes

  • if i was a nhl playeri would want to tape my my stick every period

  • sexy this is what im doing for now on

  • How the hell is this a bad tape job? I bet you half of you guys don't even know he's in the NHL. THIS IS A SICK TAPE JOB! It slides great on the ice and no creases make the shot more powerfull. And who the fuck cares if he is using BLACK TAPE??? Its actually better cause the goali can't see the puck as well as they could if you had white tape. Shut up you Haters if you don't like how people tape their sticks don't even look it up! its simple gth. This is my new tape job.

  • @81nhlkessel10 I agree people not playing in the NHL shouldnt criticize those who are, but tape jobs are all preference. What sucks to one guy is great for another.

As far as black tape making the puck more difficult to see... no. goalies are experts at tracking the puck. that would be like saying if you drive a black car you blend into the road. I play goalie in juniors, and I can tell you it doesnt make one bit of difference for black or white tape

  • @hockeymatt1994 Yeah

  • @81nhlkessel10 it works

  • @81nhlkessel10 this is defenitly my new tape job i have it on my stick right now with the erathan and the puck and black tape.

  • @81nhlkessel10 your a hero :)

  • @81nhlkessel10 I agree, but the bottom of the blade would wear out pretty quick

  • @Pensrock8729 Yeah but these guys change sticks so often that he doesnt have to worry about that. The stick will most probably be broken before the bottom gets damaged.

  • ewww black tape

  • @MrMagicMarleyMarl what's wrong with black tape?

  • Wtf

  • Tape jod stills sucks tho

  • black tape FTW

  • what else is there to worry about besides take ur top pads off or take a shit

  • Woerst tape job ever

  • @SticklesSk8Vids worst spelling ever

  • Yea um wouldnt this make bottom of the blade go bye bye

  • he's a mouth breather

  • Wasn't Kristian Huselius the first one to tape his stick this way?

  • if your worried about the wear on the bottom of the blade, just put a strip of tape on the bottom, its that simple.

  • hes gunna need a new stick before he needs new tape. nothing's on the bottom

  • wtf is roli doing watching him lol

  • That's a good tape job.

That will last a long time

  • Does anybody know what kind of spray he use???Nice curve

  • @refrath

It's 3M Super 77 spray adhesive, which is readily available in hardware stores and office/art supply stores

  • @TheWitchOvAgnesi Ahhh ok thank you bro^^

  • this is the gayest tape job ever....90% of us would've been done by the 1 min mark.

  • @DirtyDangler27 LOL, more like 45 seconds.

  • thats really cool

  • Why he took the extra tape off the roll?

  • @zerker112 because it probably has hair and dust on it

  • The spray is 3M Super 77. It's really good stuff. Make sure you wait 20-30 seconds before putting the tape on the blade, that way it's super tacky.

Also - I've been taping my goalie stick this way for months and have gotten GREAT results. No wear problems, and it makes the stick feel like it's filled with helium. Plus you use less tape (saving every gram possible!), and it lasts longer too!

    Cheers!

  • that would cut dowwn on the blade quickly

  • thats such a dirty curve. illegal fo sho!

  • I would love to tape my stick like that but I only have two sticks.

  • Its preety much the same as BladeTap

  • i taped my stick like that 2 times, both times i did it that way... i broke both sticks. i have bad luck with this method.

  • does any body know what the spray is called

  • tha adhesive is to keep the tape stuck to the stick LOL

  • Interesting.. may have to tape mine like that and try it out

  • Look at the Hook on that freaking thing!

  • LOL, Longer then the stick does!

  • thats a nice toe curve!

  • @devilm116 if you like that toe curve you must whatch petr sykoras curve!

  • @devilm116 your pathetic. the goalie can still see the puck even if you use black tape. any way i agree with the other stuff you said

  • i tape my sticks like that once is a while

  • Let's Go Canes!!!

  • dyeballer0012

Pro are taping sticks all the time. pretty much every day! they go through way more sticks then any of us. If they are luck will have the stick for a while. They tape sticks all the time so they can just grab one.

  • I thought doing it vertically so there are lots of tape lines was to help spin the puck on wrist shots.

  • how long does this tape job last

  • @freak111118 linger than the stick so i guess a couple of years

  • @me17557 years? try weeks pros break their sticks all the time. sometimes its even a matter of days before they have to tape up a new one.

  • @dyeballer0012 dude i tape my stick after every time i play cus it always gets snuffed up

  • usually longer than the stick

  • will the blade wear down on indoor if u do that

  • Actually nevermind that isn't double sided.

  • 0:25. Can somebody explain to me why he just threw away all of that tape he tore off?

Is it because the tape is double-sided and he wants the fresh strips underneath?

  • @TheHockeyCentral b/c if u just have ur tape laying around the out side part gets dirty so when he takes all that tape away its fresh new tape underneath that didnt get dirt or something on it...its not double sided

  • are u a tard

  • I could be.

  • It's 3m adhesive spray it's something like 9 bucks. You don't really need it

  • @trentotv whats the adhesive spray supposed to do

  • What is the spray at the begining ?

  • @kmfdmnick

    3M™ Super 77™ Multipurpose Adhesive

  • thx man !

  • fk nnice curve

  • toofast4me thanks you =)

  • wat stick is tht

  • vapor XXXX

  • @magichabs3921 yeah but does a regular vapor xxxx has a matted blade?

  • where do u buy the spray?

  • @edgehockey14 Any hardware store.

  • he's got a nasty curve

  • @bosstwinkie68 i know ive seen its huge

  • What does he spray on the blade?

  • @VilleLocHock He uses Super 77 you can find it at like Canadian Tire, Rona some stores like that.

  • yea but what is it?? I live in finland so... what does it do to blade??

  • this is a great tape job. . . . if u get supplied 70 sticks a year

  • @LiLMaC477 thats 100% true

  • @LiLMaC477 have u tried?.....im gonna......u wore your lumber down?

  • @LiLMaC477 yea or you have a shitty stick!

  • i like how roloson is just sitting there watching

  • how long does the spray adhesive take to set??

  • Cole's got a crazy curve on his stick.

  • using same

  • i like taping my stick this way for roller because tape usually rips off anyways but for ice i like a traditional tape job because i like to conserve my sticks

  • HOLY SHIT no joke that is exactly the way i do it lol

  • haha gay. whole point of going north south is for ridges. ridges = spin. Spin = harder shot. but he's in the NHL so im gonna shut up lol

  • @iamgodsfinest ,,,,lol nice

  • haha, yeah, i was gonna say something along those lines...but i agree with you

  • ridiculous

  • dont see it done this way to often. pretty sick.

  • Yeah Erik is from my hometown Oswego,ny!

  • Sweet

  • i love it it works well lol

  • uhhhhhh to all you house leaguers out there,

AAAhockeySniper97 is actually right. i'm to lazy to type why, but if you have a problem with facing the fact that you're wrong, just say something

  • umm ya fuck u cuz im right...

  • different tape job, i like it

  • Isn't the point of taping it the normal way is to create more spin on the puck? Taping the regular way creates little bumps to spin the puck as it goes from heel to toe, causing the puck to spin more which means a straight floating pass rather than a wobbly one. Correct me if I'm wrong. That's what I was always told

  • so ur saying the normal way, which is the vertical way,is better?

  • @Boostinmister2 nerd.

  • @PureLtFan Douchefag.

  • very unique tape job, first time i've heard of not taping the bottom for increased performance, but I dont feel like buying a new stick due to cracks/shit happening to the bottom :P

  • that's what i was thinking during the video. he can only do it cuz he gets his sticks free.

  • Why is he breathing so damn hard???????

  • what a curve eh?

  • kane tape very cool he stick

  • Buddy that's awsome I'm going to try that
