Quicker to use short cut keys when cutting and deleting. Use T to cut and the delete key to delete. Makes it go so much quicker and less hand pain.

Hey Adam,

Here's a tip for you. If you click on the drop-down arrow next to the razor blade you'll get a 'Remove to start' option which will not only split the clip, but will move the remaining portion over to the left.

@nirnova movie edit pro obliterates windows movie maker. The only pro to windows movie maker over movie edit pro is the price tag..

That's certainly looks like a very user friendly program. I think I'll have to pick this one up for when I start actually posting videos. Can't wait to see how the special effects are done. Yours are always so well done I want to see what/how you're doing them. I appreciate you showing us how this works. Video editing is something I've only done on analog tape, never digitally. This looks so much easier. Thanks!

I use roxio it is much the same.I used movie maker for alot of things as well.

@delmontcrusier I've never tried roxio. I went from windows movie maker which drove me nuts with all its crashing and such. Then I went to intelli-studios because at the time I had the two samsung cameras. Then I got my panasonic and intelli couldn't work with the AVCHD so I got movie maker pro and never looked back.

@Skavaen I have the same issues! My camera makes .m2ts files and finding a free program to edit them is nearly impossible. Windows Live Movie Maker 2011 just came out and it converts and edits videos in 1080p. BUT I seem to have a lot of trouble with it failing if I try to join more than one video or add in effects and pictures. I am getting so mad. I don't want to spend money on a program when there is a better, faster, cheaper version out there. I want iMovie 11! But I don't have a mac.

@37474748 for legallity reasons and the fact that magix might view this video there is nothing I can do there...but I am sure if you dug around the internet hard enough you would come across something that might do the job. I recomend supporting the company though so it persuades them to make newer versions with more options and faster rendering.

@37474748 yeah man. My video I did of the keyboard prank was shot with my iphone. I just docked the iPhone on my computer, copied the .mov videos from the library to my computer and then edited with magix. Magix will even work with .mts blueray files man. Its epic!

well I mostly make music video's so it won't help me much for that. I recently had to cut up a full film for youtube and found it was a bit of a pain to do in movie maker so I'll give it a try. oh feel free to watch my big man on campus film ;) if you've not seen it you should! do it!!!
