Never trust a birtish guy to talk about an American beast of the road. Also the Hummer H1 was based off the Hummvee. 16 inches of ground clearance and can climb anything 22 inches and under with no problem. The in/deflate is so you can go off road with more traction or on road for more comfort. GM didnt have comfort in mind. Fun Fact: Hummvees and hummer H1s were built in the same factory but the hummvee was painted across the parking lot.

@ricardoeldelmustang they arnt, but they are made on the same assembly line, so basically they are, except for the military one has a 24v electrical system, and can go through 5 feet of water

@dereileak yep, but remember, the H1 has a lot of shotty unnessesary luxuri inside of it such can be damaged in case of getting covered with mud, that can happen easily because you can remove the doors and top of both of them, so an H1 is a lot more to worry about.

you did NOT drive a Humvee! you drove the Hummer hH1. Gm did not make it for the army, AM General did. Deflating the tires allows for better traction, not bouncing up and down.

@snickerdoodleton Your correct in that, GM never touched manufacturing of h1's or humvees, but the h1 is basically a humvee, as they were made on the same assembly line, and finished on different ones. Many Military humvees ran on 24v electrical systems though

Well the original and military humvee was and is still manufactured by AM General but Hummer is manufactured by GM
