a 350? idc if its just as fast or w.e it sounds fucking pathetic. end off. full stop. right there. wtf. omg. wth are ktm doing. get it sorted. ffs. fuck me ! . grrr. ye. anyways. full fucking stop. . .
erm personally i think 4 strokes are worth it but stop comparing them anyway its opinion stop cryin about a 4 stroke needs engine rebuilds more and oil changes more bla bla bla. and even tho tony is an amazing rider he wud prob do better on a 450 cuz thats wa hes been on for yrs anyway
per rebuild, no big deal...once a fourstroke goes your looking at. piston, rings, top end bearing, valves, valve seats, valve guides, cam chain and possible even cam(s) no matter how minimal the rebuild is it will be far more expensive than a two stroke.
@carlman99 Not really my buddy olny gets 90hrs on his 250f pistons and he put 80 hrs on his 125 pistons the olny thing that isint cost effective is how often you replace clutches on the damn 2 smokes !
@carlman99 yeah but you gotta check the valves on a 4 stroke just as much or more then a top end rebuild on a 2 stroke. and more oil changes then a two stroke.
shtofan: i dont know.. it seems like its revving way to high and quick to be a 450 but i do agree it doesnt look like the 350, maybe an early prototype with the frame and plastic off the 250 and 450? or just a 250f but i doubt it...
and sdlocalkid85: your 525 maybe be very reliable but as soon as you look at a 250f, its is far less reliable than any two stroke...without constant valve shimming they'll give up in no time.. even if a two troke takes one or two new pistons a year its $100- $200
hahah 2 strokes more reliable than 4 strokes? quit smoking crack guy. ive had my ktm for 3.5 years and never had one problem except for a blown HID. all my friends that ride 2 strokes are always replacing reeds and having issues keeping their bikes up. KTM 525 over any 2 stroke out there, except for CR500AF (sick bike).
125cc's rnt racing 250's anymore, the new classes are , 150 2 stroke and 250 4 stroke, and then , 100 to 125cc 2 stroke, becoz they felt the 250's had more power than the 125's which i agree with
@brokenbarrows tell that to the lone yz125 that took first on both races when Yamaha had there big 250f blow out any yz125 stock will hang with a stock 250f it is when they dump 15k to 20k in to the 250f it can then start pulling on the 125....
4stroke is winning all of the AMA pro only do the the fact that that is what the factory ride give them to ride
you drop the $ on a 125 it can and will hang with no problem
Clearly everybody have noticed the most "horses" of this bike are dead or atleast at stable. Why did i tought the discusion here would be the power of the bike. But atleast everybody agree's it was a nice ride for... Thumpsup !!
ktm has developed the 350 to compete in the 450 class as a lighter alternative to the big bikes. just as much power just without the weight, should be a great balance. mike alessi will be racing one this summer in the ama outdoor championship, he is a small guy someone who struggled with fatigue on the 450 so it should be interesting to watch if he can put a ktm on the top of the podium this season.
It was made for the 450 class. Ktm thinks that the 450 is too much bike for the track and it is effecting riders lap times because the bike is such a bitch to handel, They say the 350 handels better and is plenty enough power for the track. Mike Alessi is coming back to the 2010 nationals in the US after Europe. Then he will be racing in the Austrailian supercross after that. And yeah, against 450fs.
actually.. that was the talk in the summer.. they aren't going to take this into affect anytime soon according to the AMA. It would be to hard on the companies and racers with how the economy is.
this bike would make that old xr350 feel like a tank. i used to have a xr100, 200, and 500. my yz250f blows them all out of the water in every way. modern bikes definately have come a looonngg way.
no doubt modern bikes have come a long way....but in retrospect, theres nothing much out there what will touch a honda cr500...them good old 2 stroke days!
sand, dirt, tarmac....500's dont hook up on anything, the problem with all that power is getting it onto the ground cuz them monsters just wanna spin! : )
@oasis11991 modern bikes have come along way, didn't you do your homework?...you are forgeting one major powerhouse. The MAICO! There 2010 line-up to smash the cr500...Maico 500 M.M.X., 620 M.M.X., and last but not least the Maico 700 M.M.X.! ALL 2 STROKES!!!
Sorry mate but there in the 450 class. You would never be allowed to race a 350 in the 250 class. Its a bigger engine. they have rules cuzy lol The 350sxf have prety much the sae hp as the 450 and is lighter so that puts the performance right up the with the 450s. googole the specs and you will see
@xoxmissmyluvxox 2 stroke 125 top end rebuild cost is always <$250 ... 250 4 stroke rebuild cost nearly $900 and its easier and faster to a rebuild on a 2 stroke.

@xoxmissmyluvxox obviously a 250f is going to run against a 125 2 stroke? they are the same bikes pretty much.....youd be completely stupid to race a 250 4 stroke against a 250 2 stroke.
@xoxmissmyluvxox thats why the 250f dominates against the 125 cause its faster and ktm is the most reliable bike out there i havent had to fix my ktm one yet ive had it for a year in 3 months everythings fine with it and its a 250f the 125 cc 2 stroke was made to be a 250f but in a 2 stroke version its the same thing but the 250f gives power alot better
well brettwill87. sense theirs only two classes to race in. in the usa atleast. and its 100cc's to big for the 250f class. u answer that question. and to thor17racer. it takes ALOT more than a bike to win a race. and finally at herse88. ur a tool. a four stroke is much more reliable than a 2 stroker. im not gonna hate on them 2 strokers tho cuz this wouldnt be a sport without them good ole 2 strokes. but that era is over. so now its ur turn to get over it
@brettwill87 Tony cairoli and stewart both rode with smaller bore bikes, that's because they think a 450 is a little to powerful. And now with a 350 they can ride it like a 250 with almost the power of a 450. At least this is what I heard and what is the most logical explanation
@BCH517 you should calm the fuck down you 5 year old thunder cunt. they would never race it in the 450 class.. come on really? 100 cc's smaller.. no way they would allow tjat. id say it would be for the lites beginner class. so they can have more fire power against the better riders on 125's or 250f's well see whose riding it next season and youll get a messge then. you just wait..
hey dipshit. learn something about mx before running your mouth. why can a 250 2 stroke ride in the 250f class with 125 2 strokes and 250 2 strokes? answer me that one..
and if you want, you can ride a 250f in the 450 class. Trust me, ive done it.

the 350 is for the 450 class dude, its coz theres talk of bringing the class down to a 350 in the future as the FIM thinks 450 are to powerful personally i hope they keep it 450 i ride a 450 and i love the tourquey engine

Before the reveiling at EICMA 09 the 350 was "undercover" with the old plastic and graphics.
After EICMA, they "stopped being undercover" cuz then everybody already knew how the bike would look like.

It's not a 450, it's the new 350 ktm, I don't know why tony cairoli had changed bike

Its kinda obvious. the only reason riders ever change brand... cos of the money. I would rather race the new yz450f than the 350 if i was him but ktm would probs pay more.
