Was with one of the first convoys onto the site, it was amazing to watch it build from just a few of us to thousands. Avon police had given us the run around for a while, but when we crossed into Gloucester there were no cops to be found anywhere. Such a sweet sweet spot for a party, it became its own autonomous zone for a week. There was a sign at one of the entrances that said "Civilization Ends Here"..
One anarchic week, all the Sound Systems, CIrcus Warp to Bedlam to Spiral Tribe etc & even DIY from Nottingham, probably the only place you may have heard 'Not Forgotten' by Leftfield (The track on the vid), mostly Hardcore & Techno. Travellers jump their bus's on old two strokes, flares fired at Police helicopters, a traveler rave a mile long & a massive hill to climb up in the morning and look at the spectacle, weather was amazing too! Weird!! Ket Mud Acid Weed and whatever else... madup!

Does anyone remember the distress flare that got fired infront of the pig chopper? I was stood next to some bloke that shot it, it went up infront of the chopper and the chopper turned around and did not come back for ages!!!

Was meant to be the Avon free festival but ended up in Wales and turned into a massive event, 8 raves and one travellers stage with live bands, lol.
