Looks awesome! Down here in North Carolina we don't do anything like that, we sure do run races with some steep hills though. Thats almost what half our practices are center around: getting up steep hills without wasting energy, and then regaining your breath at the top and passing people going down the other side. If you learn how to use a hill, it really becomes your advantage.

LOL I remember my school during a crosscountry meet. PS; I live in California, but it was raining like crazy for 2 days straight, me and my friend went to the mall bought new runningshoes for $95. We were all excited anout our 1stt race we were like 20th place out of 140 and there was like some sorta lake just like this video, and we stopped and were like shiiit we just bought these shoes. But we still ran through it. I finished 2nd out of 140 and my friend 6th. Now that was a day to remember xd

I ran a course that was naturally muddy as this one...minus the giant water puddles, we just had puddles that were like 2-3inches and were like 10-15feet across.

IT SUCKED. Especially steep uphill in the mud.

Any serious runner would be furious about this "race" and the way it's handled. I would refuse to run it. This has nothing to do with obstacles or even making it more difficult. It was strictly done for show and demeans the sport. Go do a Warrior Dash or Tough Mudder if this is what you want to do.

Also...EVERYONE runs varsity in high school. Get over yourself.

We had one of these......except it was pouring down rain, with 2.5 miles of straight downhill mud, it culminated with 2 rivers, with a really fast current flowing down.

These are so much fun, and these runners are sooooo lucky to have experienced this fun.

Seeing all of them just outright dive and flip into the water was awesome!
