hey you should get that girl back and do more films but pleaze take these tips to heart a red wig and look to words her batgirl suit in the birds of prey live action suit
Hey polaris5411. Please take THESE tips to heart: Once you learn how to spell and punctuate properly, THEN I may be more inclined to take YOUR tips to heart. With regard to my choice of hair and costume; I make my creative decisions as I see fit. I'll make MY films, and you can make yours (which it doesn't look like you have.)
@Andrew12759 listen twit i am just an 11 year old fan of barbara she is my fav dc character that was not meant to be offensive just saying my input you never had to reply i was just throwing some suggestions but i did love the video over al so yeah cry me a river
Thank you for your kind remarks about this little movie. It achieved everything in it I was hoping to accomplish (script, lighting, casting, etc.). Action wasn't one of them. Action scenes are difficult to srite, and even harder to choreograph for film. It was written primarily as an exersize in dialogue.
Very nicely done! Great scene selections and Batgirls a cuttie! Love the costume work as well as the scripting ...just needed a little more action.DJ. T
Thak you for your kind comments. Yes, the Penguin actor was a novice. But I needed a BIG guy. I would've preferred someone over 60, also. I look forward to yours. Keep me posted.
That was amazing. You should check out my batman video. It's nowhere near as good and the production value is not even close to yours but I really would appreciate it. I don't have very many views. Ha
@CxMxAlex Thank you so much for your kind words. And yes...he is. I needed someone who was REALLY big, and remotely could look the part without any prosthetic appliances. So...whatchagonnado? Jon Lovitz would've been perfect... he didn't return my e-mal. Ah well.
@Andrew12759 HAHAHAHA. Awesome. But no dude I really enjoyed it. Most of the acting was very good, especially Batgirl, I truly think the stripper cop was meh. But anyways, from one filmmaker/editor/director to another, I say "Bravo!" Check out my webseries, man. Episode 2'll be up soon on my page.
i assume this is Stephanie Brown as Batgirl shes my fav version i like Babs and Casandra to but my fav is Steph. looks great good job the actor for Batgirl is hot to.
You may assume all you want to. I based her on an 'updated' version of Barbara Gordon from the '66 series. The back-story that did not make it into the film is: if the cop's father was a rookie with Comissioner Gordon, then it stands to reason that Batgirl knew the cop from when they were in their teens. So...she knows him, but because of the mask, etc., he does not know her.
Eh... as writer / producer / director, maybe not every decision hit the mark. But I was actually OK with it. I needed something that would stand out in the shadows. And had I opted to paint the bat with the same paint as the boots, I would be painting a LOT of bats, since a new one was applied for each different day's shooting (had to keep the suit clean, ya know).
Thank you for your kind remarks. I didn't write it as an action film. I've seen poorly choreographed action sequences done too many times. And excessive make-up on Cobblepot was an unnecessary expense, coupled with an inexperienced skill. I don't know how to do it, and couldn't afford anyone else to do it....so I didnt. My objectives with this film were writing, lighting, and framing of shots. (It was tough to make Ft. Myers look like Gotham City).
@Andrew12759 Yet I think you managed to work around the issue greatly, as for the likeliness of the penguin He was spot on, too bad it does look like he is reading at one moment, good idea, though I do believe the actors feel a little rigid? static? I do not know how to describe it, but perhaps a little more of movement could help the dialogs, nonetheless a remarkable feature, hope to do mine someday as well.
Thank you for your comments regarding my film. But I will refrain from "doing it like the Deadpool Adventures...", and continue to make these short films as I see fit.
While you make a fine point, Batgirl was not being entirely honest with the undercover officer. The things that Batgirl was telling her were for HER benefit, NOT ours.
Thank you for the kind words. I did put a lot of effort into this. But I have the advantage of working as a TV news photographer...so I used my work camera and editing program. One a more editorial note...I can't believe the guy won both 2nd and 1st prize. I was unimpressed.
@Andrew12759 Hi. I'm John, the guy who didn't impress you. I've been part of the MSC fan film competition all 4 years. I was surprised to win twice. It's an honor for me. George--the Joker in the Villians Day Off videos--asked me about my videos because he saw a creative jump in my work this year. With a smile I told him it was because he won first place two years in a row. I hope you don't hold it against me for too long. I hope to see you next year. Good luck with your fan films.
Very dialogue driven, more than I've known a Batman fan-film to be, but I think that's why it made for a good change. The premise and plot were simple, but successfully presented.
Emily's portrayal of Batgirl was credible, and I really liked Mike's rendition of the Penguin, rather Nolan-esque style. Good script with good pacing. Nice one, mate.
Thank you for your kind words on the film. Yes... a number of Batman Fan Films make attempts at action. I was going to stick to my strengths...the words, the lighting, the shots themselves, and the editing. And while it is low on action, I wanted to write a script that didn't make the fewer want to stop watching out of sheer dullness. The actors may have been new to film acting, I was satisfied with their portrayals. Thank you again.
All the actors did as I asked. I didn't want Batgirl to show much emotion. I was making attempts to avoid any resembalance to the 60s series. If Batman is the "intimidator", Batgirl is the "negotiator" (with due respect to Priceline's Shatner).
@Andrew12759 point taken but you strayed too far from the character in my humble opinion. Is growing akin to being dull ? Batgirl was more like bat-negotiator. She really needed to instil some costumed fear or else she comes across as another chick in tights.
That being said I really loved this but I feel it needed a throwback "POW"
@toonsis As are your points taken. This was a writing exercise, which became a production exercise. I wanted to avoid the poorly choreographed fight scenes that are SO prevelant in so many fan films. Also...from a production standpoint...in the restaurant that was used for the interiors of the club; I had 3 extras, and 2 hours to get it done. The tazer-glove was the fastest and easiest solution.
@Andrew12759 I didn't mean the actress was bad, she played the part very well. Batman is usually stiff and humorless, whereas Batgirl never suffered the trauma in her youth and has a more lively personality. In my opinion. Once again I believe your movie was well done!
But nice work. It would be great If you would create in the style of the 60`s. More fun, bataction, batfights. The viewer should have the feeling to watch the 60`s. There is much potential. Try an original costume. Look at my 2. channel. Go to my channel and click " batporn66channel"
@Batfetish Everything you mentioned you wanted to see is everything I purposely avoided. I used the 60's costume as a template, but wanted a very serious and more realistic tone. This script was written a dialogue exercise, not intended to be an "action" exercise.
