i'm pretty sure there were never any comics. the cartoon show was created specifically for Nickelodeon as a 3 season-3 book story. if you haven't watched it much you MUST, it is awesome...and it will, sadly, demonstrate, how badly this movie suuuuuucked ever more than is already obvious.

If some one made a movie adaption of Mickey Mouse, but had him as a hard core gang banger who snorts coke and fucks cats in the ass, they would clearly be missing the meat of what Mickey Mouse is about. M Night changed the character. It can't be even remotely the same story with different characters.

I actually liked the story in the movie better than the series. The acting was shit, the fight scenes were alright, and overall there was just to much condensing of the movie. But I would rather see the movie structure (Firebenders not able to create fire out of nowhere....and an explanation of the spirit world in perfect detail to explain why we need the Avatar) better than the story lacking those points.....I'm tired so organize my thoughts better :)
