When it comes to movie directors,John Ford kicks every ones ass! He must have liked firearms alot because his movies always have that gun feel to them??
My favorite lines in this movie were when John Wayne said, "Hang on to that gun, Mississippi!" and when James Caan says he missed the guy he was shooting at, but he got him with the sign. Duke will always live on!
Nothing is more American then John Wayne and if your accused of not likeing the Duke well then you should be treated the same as if you were accused of being a communist in the 1950's.
@SoccerDJRob Yeah, Wayne was a good actor. However, he also skated during the draft in WW2. The studios got him "deferments"... Translation: He dodged the draft. Many other actors of equal, or even bigger status enlisted, or were commissioned during WW2. Jimmy Stewart, Douglas Fairbanks Jr, Kirk Douglas, Robert Mtchum to name a few. Wayne was a good actor, but lets not make him into a God. He could have served, but he didn't. And before you ask, yes, I am a combat vet.
@devildoc225 Well thats awsome that you were a vet, Honestly i love john wayne and love his movies. Right now im working and such, if i came accorss a large sum of money so things would be taken care of and i didnt have to work i would join the army but as of right now i cant
@devildoc225 The Duke signed up for enlistment in the Navy but got rejected because of his old USC Trojan football injury. He wanted to serve his country, and tried hard enough. If he didn't qualify to serve in the military, don't put the blame on him!...do research on John Wayne before talking smack about him or knocking him, Mister!
@mapple23 double-barreled shotgun, but in this clip the sound is quite exagerated. and if you didnt know, a shotgun is a gun that fires a spread of pellets.
watched all Jorn wayne's movies with my grandmom and aunt as a kid and now I watch them all the time. This was a great movie with an all star cast for its time. The Duke and Robert Mitchum plus a young jamea cann .Christopher George and Ed Asner.
this is a great movie with many great actors and acting roles...even tho its a western and overdone, it STILL is good acting, directing, etc...if u cant appreciate this, then you are ignorant as hell...
i used to be a bloody fivestar fan of this draft dodging racist freak.now i changed my mind.i dislike this onscreen punk and a chickenhawk who ran away to the green valley bushes when there was a real offscreen shooting war.
@TheCoolProfessor "word, dude" , my old man got me started on this whole Duke business as well, im in my late twenties and I vow to force my future children to watch these spectacular moving pictures as well.
i sincerly urge all of you to read his sickeningly primitive racist warmongering thoughts on the blacks and native indians.i used to be a bloody fan ,now i hate him, hate him completely.all of you wake up and stop admiring this dumbass shithead freak
