If weren't even alive @ this time SHUT THE FUCK UP!!!!! go listen to WAKKA FLOKKA!!!! and play XBOX or go buy some new skinny jeans!!!! I was there ...This was one the pioneers of what you call Turntablism!! Real DJ's Stand Up!!
Most DJs today would struggle to do the scratch he does over the 'Doug -E Fresh Play this only at Night', it sounds straightforward but is pretty challenging to pull off smoothly. DJ's today have no idea how much the technology, mixers, internet, sharing of ideas has made things so much easier. Back then none of the 'greats' today would be any better than Cash back in 1985 at the time he did Scratching to the Funk, not even Q-Bert. Cash was WAY ahead.
Yo H8z Just post a vid shut yo lips, and let the people judge 4 themselves. Understand where y'all get your ideas and styles from. Much R-E-S-P-E-C-T 2 all the pioneers who paved the way.
Peace you are absolutely correct, i too have 12's of this as well on the black brunswick label i dont know why i said 1988,,, wierd unless i was thinking of a german re release or something

That's old cheap Gemini mixer. Radio Shack still sales similar type if DJ mixer. This is 1988, there was no DJ mixers that are designed for DJ battles.
DJ mixers come and go, but SL-1200 mk2 has never been replaced.
u have to remember this was 21 years ago man, mixers have advanced now and made it easier to crab and all that crossfader technology blah blahh,, so any old idiot can do similer things... its all about style and originality,, something a lot of modern day djs dont have even if they can scratch arhhhh or fresshhhh really fast on some cheap slapped together scratch record..
cash the master.. old skool rules
trust me i was there and he rocked the house and still can even now...
the curve fader makes anybody look like a scratch master now! and all these techno bitches use battle break records with that irritating AHHH and FResh!! all god dam day!!
I remember I heard his recorded live tape (cassette tape!) around 1989. His cut was extremely precise, and so fast, no one was doing what Cash was doing.
@scratchatune I saw Ca$h Money in Southport UK in March of this year (2010) and he was using seratos and a mac. He still showed original skills. Even with technology moving on, the fundamentals are still there. And you still need to practice.
Yes mixing, cutting and scratching has evolved but it's all about creativity.
I'm old school but can appreciate the new kids on the block too.
After all they are paying homage as Ca$h Money does to the DJ's that came before him.

Cash money was an innovator. Most of the modern DJs have watched videos and copied the top Djs who have done like wise.
