This system will cause more crashes than it will ever prevent. The only real way it could work is if every time it triggered it deployed the airbags or something. Having to replace the airbags would make someone pay attention because of how expensive those damned things are.

@djay230 You are wrong, because with the included ABS system, in that event you will not skid into the obstacle, you can turn to avoid obstacle while the Auto-brake is working.

FU Volvo! we don't need smarter cars, we need smarter drivers. These kind of features will lead to people paying less attention to the road. Also when accidents do happen the drivers will blame the car instead of their own lack of attention and not correct their bad habits.
