Is that all you took away from one of the most efficient high scoring games of all time? A travel that would never be called since he changed pivot feet a millisecond before he started dribbling?
LOL Celtics won by only 4 points in a regular season game. Big deal. Detroit Pistons easily beat the Celtics in the playoffs, and then the Bulls destroyed the Pistons on their way to the finals.
@Xorand89 The Celts were 26-5 in the regular season in 91 when Bird and McHale both played a year later. And this is the 89-90 season. The Bulls lost to the Pistons again that year asshole. So take your LOL and shove it up your ass.
This season was one of the early years with Phil Jackson as head coach where he intentionally limited Mike's minutes and opportunities in order to get his teammates prepared to respond to adversity and contribute before they made their title run the next season. Though it infuriated Jordan, he generally kept his rage to himself and still found ways to make the most of his now limited opportunities. Had Doug Collins been coach, MJ would have easily scored 60+ points on numerous occassions
That's the most effortless 45 points i think i've ever seen. It literally looked like he was moving in slow motion and jogging around like it couldn't be any easier.
my uncle knew this nigga was go be great, he recorded EVERY SINGLE MIKE GAME, even his first rookie game, he left it for me in his will, i've watched old games b4, but the NBA as a whole back then was jus superb. LOL, more PRETENDING from ConiferDouche. What would your broke-ass know of Boston OR Chicago? You live in SOUTH CAROLINA! Go to many sporting events down there in SOUTH CAROLINA?? lol. Oh, my bad...Between driving to Panama to hunt "big cats" & traversing the Spanish country side to collect your Alanos, I suppose you simply don't have the time to catch many ballgames. RIght? Great stuff, from the kid who simply bases all of his opinions on what he sees on Youtube. What a jerkoff.
This game was the second last game of the season and it made no difference to playoff standings. Did MJ take the game off like some of today's stars? No way. He was the ultimate competitor and would never take a night off. Just another reason he is the goat
This is how dominant MJ was. At one point when he was asked to play point guard, he recorded 7 straight triple doubles. Then 3 more to make it 10 triple doubles in 11 games. So if Jordan had the ball in his hands like Lebron he would be absolutely devastating. MJ was an all around player (and I mean on both ends of the court) but his scoring prowess overshadowed all his other skills. Just remember,
@ConiferTreez i agree with russel but sorry pippen sucks connie hawkins is cool so id tolerate him as a 6th man walton over shaq anyday pal and you have no guards its al about magic johnson or gervin or bird or dr j

Cheers to Michael Jordan, and a big F*** Y** to Merkinmuffy and every other Jordan disser, who can't play for shit, and waste their time dissing on the best of them!..If every dude this side of Europe wants to play like Jordan, can you blame them, really. He's the GOAT, and that may never change!! Deal with it.
It is shocking that one player could have such an impact on his sport!! So shocking that alot of people refuse to believe it. People like this irritating Merkinmuffy who have no idea what they're talking about, and whose only purpose is to bring down the legagcy of Michael Jordan
Yes it's true that European teams are alot more team-oriented than they are in the America, but I'm willing to bet that Jordan's had alot to do with that..back in the States, every guy is trying to be like Jordan and that's why the focus of the NBA has turned into individual play.
Yea that's completely true. Except for the statement "be like Jordan" and then "individual play." But Jordan was such a good scorer people immediately labelled him that, "just a scorer." But later they realized he was great a defense then great at passing, then then finally they accepted he was the best ever. But he still didn't win the Championships, until he finally and ultimately became the epidemy of winning. So when you use the word "individual play" l believe they're trying to be like Kobe
Jordan was a fuking ball hog because he realized that even with two or three guys guarding him, he was still the most efficient scorer on his team. To call him a ball hog (in the sense that he negatively affected his team) is ridiculous. Just look at fg% in this game; look at his carreer fg%; look at his six championships, and look at the praise his teammates and coaches have for him.
dont sleep on jordans passing ability though. he did play point guard early in his career. im not trying to take anything away from larry bird. he was a monster! i would pick him before any player today. but mike is the greatest. that 63 points in the playoffs vs. a great celtics team is still unmatched
I know, Larry Bird maybe the best if only consider white players.
I just like the way he pass the ball, the old style but just like magic.
I have no doubt with MJ's passing ability, he has 6 average in his career, I remember his career stat is 30 pts,6 rebs,5 asts, I bet there is less than 3 players can reach this number, or maybe, MJ is the only one.
lol, Bird Merkin, can't accept that Jordan beats his beloved Bird in stats, accomplishments, honors, mvps, finals mvps, and yes, rings. This despite the fact that Jordan only played with ONE hall of famer in his prime, as opposed to Bird, who played with 2-3 other hall of famers his whole career, in their primes. Jordan GOAT.
Prime Bird, DJ, McHale, Ainge and Boston > MJ. Pistons had prime Dumars, Rodman, and Isiah which is greater than Jordan and a young Pippen.
And how dare the Celtics have to resort to a game-winning shot by Bird over that lousy Bulls team who made the playoffs with a losing record. Luckily for them MJ didn't have 3 shots when fouled beyond the arc in the game he scored 63 on them down 2 with no time left.
Congrats Merkin on showing a rare Jordan choke (yes I said that)
Bulls added some pieces in 1993-94. 1994-95, the Bulls (34-31) were probably not going to be in the playoffs until MJ came back and the Bulls went on a 13-4 record. Now imagine that 13-4 string over a full year....Bulls draw an easier team than the Magic and may have faced Hakeem's Rockets in the NBA Finals. Could of also happened in 1996 as well.
Sad thing was the Bulls without Jordan were a 2nd round out the same year they lost 2 fewer games to a Knicks team they never lost to with Jordan.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Rodman was really good, he beat MJ in the playoffs 3 years in a row, the two before that, Bird swept his ass twice, did I mention Bird hit a game winning shot in Jordan's face, yeah, it sucks for you jordan jockers, guess you'll have to live with it :)
Gervin was in his last season in the NBA clearly out of his prime led the Bulls to a 21-43 without MJ that year (when MJ broke his foot). 9-9 with MJ before the post-season. Oakley was still young and not in his prime (unlike Boston's true "Big three" all together in their primes). Woolridge was in his prime at the time and Pippen wasn't even around back then.
And it's a good thing Pippen had MJ giving him 6 titles, cause Pippen was never proven to be a leader :)
and the Bulls only drop 2 games worse without Jordan in 94, damn, How's that for an MVP, and they win more playoff games that year than with Jordan on there team in 95, they get Rodman and he puts them over the top with his great defense, rebounding and hustle. Just like he kicked MJ's ass 3 years in a row in the playoffs and Bird swept MJs ass 2 years in a row before that ;)
Rodman put them over the top? He was certainly important, but let's be honest, you take MJ off the second three-peat team and they are a second round playoff team at best.
This is just silly contrarianism. Look at the 98 team. Rodman was pretty much at the end, Pippen was injured all year, Kukoc wasn't playing all that well, but Jordan would not let them lose. Watch game 7 or the eastern conference finals against the Pacers and try to hold to your childish nonsense.
Mj had Pippen, George Gervin all hall of famers and he also had 20+ ppg scorers like Orlando Woolridge and 2nd leading rebounder in the league Oakley, still couldn't do nothing. If Bird had Oakley, Woolridge and Pippen, no doubt they win the championship, he did after all take Boston to the best record his rookie year without Mchale, Parrish, DJ and Ainge. Because Birds' the greatest team player, he knew jacking up shots doesn't win championships. It's a good thing mj got pippen to show him
The way you talk one would think MJ had Pippen, Gervin, Woolridge and Oakley all at the same time and in their primes..
MJ only got to play with Woolridge 1 full season (his rookie year) and few games of the '86 season after coming back from a broken foot earlier than the doctors and Jerry Krause wanted..Gervin? Forget about him, out of his prime, MJ played 18 games with him.
Oakley comes in '87 and plays 2 years in Chicago. Pippen comes in '88 not good enough to even crack the starting lineup.
Yeah, and Jordan leaves in 94, and the Bulls only drop 2 games worse and they win more playoff games than they do in 95 with Jordan in the lineup, hows that for a MVP, they only drop 2 games worse? They get Rodman the next year and he puts them over the top with his great defense and hustle. MJ's a fucking ball hog and never could beat a healthy Bird and check this out" Larry Bird hits Game Winner in Jordan's Face" look it up on youtube, deal with it Jordan Jocker ;)
Lol it may seem like a great argument that the Bulls only dropped 2 games in '94 but not really. MJ leaves and enter Kukoc and Kerr joining 3 players that were entering their primes - Pippen, Grant and Armstrong. Not much of a surprise they did good that season. But did they win the chip? Again NO.
And let's not forget their 2nd round exit to the Knicks. That never happened in the Jordan era.
And don't forget the borderline playoff 34-31Bulls before MJ came back in 95. Bulls go 13-4 and into the playoffs. Had MJ been with the Bulls that entire time, a lot better record, playoff position, and a possible showdown with Hakeem's Rockets. Following 3 years, MJ plays a full season, the rest....we all know what happens

Nice argument jordan jocker, but MJ had Kukoc and Kerr when he against the Magic in game one, and they still didn't win as many games with MJ in the playoffs than the year before without him. I posted the the jordan choke for your viewing pleasure, it's priceless

Yes Rodman was a crucial adition to the team in '96. He also missed about 20 games that season i wonder why.. If Jordan wasnt a general on that team Rodman would probably ride that team out of the NBA. And again if there's no Jordan in '96 it wasnt gonna be Rodman to get them a chip.
Lol at Jordan never being able to beat a healthy Larry Bird. On top of it being false, you forget it wasnt Bird. It was a team filled with HOFers. Jordan didnt have even one.
Rodman was really good, he beat MJ in the playoffs 3 years in a row, the two before that, Bird swept his ass twice, did I mention Bird hit a game winning shot in Jordan's face, yeah, it sucks for you jordan jockers, guess you'll have to live with it :)
Oh excuse me i didnt realize Rodman single handedly beat the Chicago Bulls 3 years in a row. I thought the Pistons as whole , being one of the greatest defensive teams in Nba history, did it.
Bird swept MJ twice? I thought the Celtics as a whole, one of the greatest teams in NBA history, did it.
Bird wasnt even Jordan's assignment, he just came to help and got burned. Happens. Bird wouldnt be a lesser clutch player if he didnt hit a GW on Jordan's face.
Yeah this prick Merkinmuffly doesnt know whats he talking about. 1986 and 87 were the two years Jordan had the worst teams in his career while Bird had The chief Mchale Ainge Dennis Johnson. and Bill Walton coming off the bench
Bird didnt have McHale, Parrish or DJ in his rookie seaosn but he had solid contributions from 3 other HOF - Dave Cowens, Tiny and Pistol (for 26 games), so dont act like he did it all by himself. MJ never had proven HOF in his younger years.
MJ had 45 pts on 72% from the field while almost getting a triple double in just 35 minutes. Yeah it was his fault the Bulls lost..Shut your trap
Your a fuckin retard, Cowens was on his last legs avg of 14 points a game, retired the next year, Pistol Pete only played in 26 regular season games that year, avg of 11 points a game. Bird proved he could win with no one on his team, remember 79 ISU, WTF did jordan do his last two years in college? Couldnt even get to final 4 with Daugherty, Sam Perkins and Kenny Smith, Bird would have won 4 ncaa titles with these players. MJ was a ball hog that couldnt win shit without pip fucking moron
Wow no need to get all defensive on me buddy.. Dave Cowens and Tiny Archibald 2 HOF no matter what you say. If they were 33 i'd rule them out, but they were barely 31 giving experience and solid contributions to help the team.
Cowens 14ppg, 8 reb, 1stl, 1blk.
Tiny 14ppg, 8 ast, 1stl.
Cedric Maxwell 17ppg on 61% FG!! 9 reb, 1stl, 1blk
Pete Maravich (26 games) 11.5ppg on 49% FG.
Man if that's not help i dont know what is..
Look at you hanging to what Bird did in college lol, did he win a chip?
And as usual, Boston wins, MJ proves again he's the king of ballhogging and not a great team player like Bird. Check out my video on youtube that shows MJ getting punked by Bird: watch?v=a3lAuohZvnE
@MerkinMuffly u sound like a hater, fast foward 8 years and he has 6 rings and it would of been 8 if he didnt go play baseball for his pops, and players dont win ships teams do, and in a final series (cant remember which one) he averaged 12.5 assists GOOFY
I have this game on tape, Rick Barry goes on to mention (not sure if you've got the same broadcast/put the clip in) that Jordan could "score 60 points a loooot of times Bob, but he's a very unselfish player...". This was exactly 4 years after his 63 points against the Celtics, if I remember right.
i love how wen he crosses over he doesnt even get low when he has too he can just cross over and get the ball low enough that the defender cant reach down and touch the ball and it just bounces up n his hands which sets himself up for so many other offensive options
Yep a lot of guys his height don't have that ability. Kobe's cross might look prettier, but MJ's was more on the fly and effective imo (sorry to bring up kobe lol).
I don't think it was available in high quality when you watched it since you watched it right after I uploaded it. The high quality option is available now and I think it looks pretty good.
Wow, great move at 2:50. I think Jordan once said that Reggie Lewis was one of his toughest defenders, and look at what he did to him and the whole Celtics defense!

and the Bulls only drop 2 games worse without Jordan in 94, damn, How's that for an MVP, and they win more playoff games that year than with Jordan on there team in 95, they get Rodman and he puts them over the top with his great defense, rebounding and hustle. Just like he kicked MJ's ass 3 years in a row in the playoffs and Bird swept MJs ass 2 years in a row before that ;)
MerkinMuffly 3 years ago
I dont hate Bird, i love the guy and he deserves all my admiration, go seat in the corner junior.
rrTale 3 years ago
Rodman put them over the top? He was certainly important, but let's be honest, you take MJ off the second three-peat team and they are a second round playoff team at best.
This is just silly contrarianism. Look at the 98 team. Rodman was pretty much at the end, Pippen was injured all year, Kukoc wasn't playing all that well, but Jordan would not let them lose. Watch game 7 or the eastern conference finals against the Pacers and try to hold to your childish nonsense.
TBlake34 3 years ago
And it's easier to be a team player when you have multiple HOF'ers on your team.
Switch MJ and Larry around, it would be Jordan's Celtics, owning Larry's Bulls.
ClipCoug 3 years ago
Mj had Pippen, George Gervin all hall of famers and he also had 20+ ppg scorers like Orlando Woolridge and 2nd leading rebounder in the league Oakley, still couldn't do nothing. If Bird had Oakley, Woolridge and Pippen, no doubt they win the championship, he did after all take Boston to the best record his rookie year without Mchale, Parrish, DJ and Ainge. Because Birds' the greatest team player, he knew jacking up shots doesn't win championships. It's a good thing mj got pippen to show him
MerkinMuffly 3 years ago
The way you talk one would think MJ had Pippen, Gervin, Woolridge and Oakley all at the same time and in their primes..
MJ only got to play with Woolridge 1 full season (his rookie year) and few games of the '86 season after coming back from a broken foot earlier than the doctors and Jerry Krause wanted..Gervin? Forget about him, out of his prime, MJ played 18 games with him.
Oakley comes in '87 and plays 2 years in Chicago. Pippen comes in '88 not good enough to even crack the starting lineup.
rrTale 3 years ago
Yeah, and Jordan leaves in 94, and the Bulls only drop 2 games worse and they win more playoff games than they do in 95 with Jordan in the lineup, hows that for a MVP, they only drop 2 games worse? They get Rodman the next year and he puts them over the top with his great defense and hustle. MJ's a fucking ball hog and never could beat a healthy Bird and check this out" Larry Bird hits Game Winner in Jordan's Face" look it up on youtube, deal with it Jordan Jocker ;)
MerkinMuffly 3 years ago
Lol it may seem like a great argument that the Bulls only dropped 2 games in '94 but not really. MJ leaves and enter Kukoc and Kerr joining 3 players that were entering their primes - Pippen, Grant and Armstrong. Not much of a surprise they did good that season. But did they win the chip? Again NO.
rrTale 3 years ago

I posted the the jordan choke for your viewing pleasure, it's priceless
just pass the fucking ball MJ :)

haha jordan was a big choker huh. he only won wut 6 nba titles
nhuskers20 3 years ago

MerkinMuffly 3 years ago
Oh excuse me i didnt realize Rodman single handedly beat the Chicago Bulls 3 years in a row. I thought the Pistons as whole , being one of the greatest defensive teams in Nba history, did it.
Bird swept MJ twice? I thought the Celtics as a whole, one of the greatest teams in NBA history, did it.
Bird wasnt even Jordan's assignment, he just came to help and got burned. Happens. Bird wouldnt be a lesser clutch player if he didnt hit a GW on Jordan's face.
Time to grow up kid.
rrTale 3 years ago 2
Yeah this prick Merkinmuffly doesnt know whats he talking about. 1986 and 87 were the two years Jordan had the worst teams in his career while Bird had The chief Mchale Ainge Dennis Johnson. and Bill Walton coming off the bench
JCR1992 2 years ago
Bird didnt have McHale, Parrish or DJ in his rookie seaosn but he had solid contributions from 3 other HOF - Dave Cowens, Tiny and Pistol (for 26 games), so dont act like he did it all by himself. MJ never had proven HOF in his younger years.
MJ had 45 pts on 72% from the field while almost getting a triple double in just 35 minutes. Yeah it was his fault the Bulls lost..Shut your trap
rrTale 3 years ago
Your a fuckin retard, Cowens was on his last legs avg of 14 points a game, retired the next year, Pistol Pete only played in 26 regular season games that year, avg of 11 points a game. Bird proved he could win with no one on his team, remember 79 ISU, WTF did jordan do his last two years in college? Couldnt even get to final 4 with Daugherty, Sam Perkins and Kenny Smith, Bird would have won 4 ncaa titles with these players. MJ was a ball hog that couldnt win shit without pip fucking moron
MerkinMuffly 3 years ago
Look at you hanging to what Bird did in college lol, did he win a chip?
rrTale 3 years ago
NBA is the real deal, its where it counts. So you're just wasting your time talking about could have beens in college..
rrTale 3 years ago
What do you call Rodman and Pippen fuck face?
MerkinMuffly 3 years ago
And as usual, Boston wins, MJ proves again he's the king of ballhogging and not a great team player like Bird. Check out my video on youtube that shows MJ getting punked by Bird: watch?v=a3lAuohZvnE

@MerkinMuffly u sound like a hater, fast foward 8 years and he has 6 rings and it would of been 8 if he didnt go play baseball for his pops, and players dont win ships teams do, and in a final series (cant remember which one) he averaged 12.5 assists GOOFY

Jordan's Crossover was sick and effective.
MJisKingKobesuckss 3 years ago 2
I have this game on tape, Rick Barry goes on to mention (not sure if you've got the same broadcast/put the clip in) that Jordan could "score 60 points a loooot of times Bob, but he's a very unselfish player...". This was exactly 4 years after his 63 points against the Celtics, if I remember right.
det916 3 years ago
How did the Celtics manage to win without Bird???? lol

Just another great vid...as always...thanks a lot from Spain. MJ: the truly GOAT...FOREVER¡¡¡
blefaritis69 3 years ago
i love how wen he crosses over he doesnt even get low when he has too he can just cross over and get the ball low enough that the defender cant reach down and touch the ball and it just bounces up n his hands which sets himself up for so many other offensive options
bigdplaya25 3 years ago 4
Yep a lot of guys his height don't have that ability. Kobe's cross might look prettier, but MJ's was more on the fly and effective imo (sorry to bring up kobe lol).

I don't think it was available in high quality when you watched it since you watched it right after I uploaded it. The high quality option is available now and I think it looks pretty good.

Wow, great move at 2:50. I think Jordan once said that Reggie Lewis was one of his toughest defenders, and look at what he did to him and the whole Celtics defense!
