  • Que fuerteeeee!!!!!!

  • i heard this idiot died the same way or something.

  • This video should have 1 billion of views ... This is a piece of Art. If two lovers die together, their Love will live for ever. Thank you, Mishima sensei. You'll always be missed.

  • T_T!!! so sad OTL!

  • Gorgeous. Subtle, silent, perfect. The Kanji written on the scroll seen above Takeyama's lifeless body reads "至誠" (shisei) meaning sincerity, or devotion. Beautiful symbolism. The general's devotion to a dying age, the devotion of Reiko to her husband. I love the simplistic, deliberate beauty. Reiko, slowly and calmly putting on her makeup so she can join her husband in the next life, the decision to omit the showing of Reiko's death, and yet the Harakiri scene viewed in its entirety. Wonderful.

  • excellent soundtrack - well done!

  • It may be sick, and propaganda, but it *is* art.

  • One of the most beautiful and terrible films ever made. This is how watching Tragedy must have felt in centuries before the enactment of tragedy was co-opted by the modern lah-di-dah world of 'heritage industry' secular culture: like a terrible God manifesting himself right in front of you.

  • Extremely faithful and meticulous adaptation of Mishima's short story, "Patriotism" (naturally, since Mishima himself wrote, produced, directed, and acted in it!). For those who haven't read the story, it is an absolutely riveting piece of work - and shocking since it graphically details the lieutenant's seppuku.

  • quality production!

  • Among the cherry blossoms, among men the warrior....

  • Fantastic, really fantastic!

  • Best upload of the film on YouTube. Top notch video quality. I'm favoriting all three parts!

  • Beautifully scored. It was both haunting and tender, which can be a delicate balance.

  • Thank you very much for uploading this, I'll be sure to show it to my friends.

  • Brilliant!!!!

  • This film is simply beautiful.

  • great.........

    and he did re-eneact it....

  • Gorgeous music. An artistic presentation, like a silent movie. One of my favorite short stories; never read anything with such a sense of melancholy fatalism...all-consuming love expressed through sensual -- if grueling -- self-destruction. I'd read about this film but never expected to see it -- the wonders of YouTube!

  • it is a really beautiful scene....I watched it long ago and still think it is impressive....no one like Mishima

  • thankx!

  • amazing
