Okay, so now we have the Junon Cannon/Sister Ray to thank for blowing holes in two of the Weapons. Ultima Weapon attacks fucking middle of nowhere Mideel, and then gets owned by the party as it flies around the world. Why is it that the only Weapons that were tough enough that they could've seriously fulfilled their purpose it seems(Emerald and Ruby) are just hanging out at the bottom of the ocean or in the middle of the desert and not pwning anything until you come to them? lol

@heeriyujaxhunin It was too busy sending shots at Shinra headquarters, remember? Besides, something that big isn't going to be very manuverable or fast. Only Ultima Weapon, Rodan, Mothra, and King Ghidorah could have dodged that shot..if they were already in the air. Any ground based monsters would be ruined.

The weapons weren't evil. They were designed to wipe out threats to the planet.... or well... I guess everything on the planet. Every weapon was created by the planet to protect it... that doesn't mean it will protect humans.... especially if they were the threat to the planet.

If anyone thinks I'm wrong, please tell me cause I love learning more about FFVII.

I studied it a bit, and played Dirge of Cerberus.

In the case of another catastrophe on the level of Jenova, weapon will activate the following objectives:

1.) All weapons will immediately start obliterating ALL life on the planet.

2.) Omega weapon will come to life once large amounts of life force have been sent to the planet.

3.) Omega weapon will absorb all the lifestream and leave for a new planet.

They activate in FFVII because Sephiroth was starting to end the planet.

@Chayraz2 Choas was sort of a harbinger of death. It's been a while, but from what I remember, I believe that Chaos was just another form of destruction, one that is MUCH more mobile than the other Weapons. As we could see in Dirge of Cerberus, Chaos is not needed for Omega to gain the lifestream, as the lifestream can move of it's own will.

Take the ending of FFVII for example, Aerith was indeed able to command it's movement, it does not need to be escorted.

I somehow felt sorry for the weapons. Protectors getting annihilated. They're only attacking cities because of the mako energy, percieving any mako cities to be a threat on the planet. Either that, or they are killing all life so Omega Weapon can do his job. Either way really.

Electricity nor gasoline are based off of the planet's life blood.

They use oil after shinra crumbles at the end of the game. In advent when cloud checks his messages one of them is from Barret bragging that he's found a huge oil flat.

good point, sad part is is that I remember that part in the movie. People probably never used any oil during the weapon conflict because mako was already there and more efficient. They may have used some oil, but that didn't stop them from using mako as well.

you could argue that the shorter chain alkane molecules(gasoline) derived from longer alkane chains of fossil fuels are the planets life blood:P (fossil fuels being the life blood)

So, if I start pouring gasoline and fossil fuels on the land, could it act as a fertalizer? No. But you could sure as hell bet that it would REALLY piss off the EPA

you could do actually, compost is roughly 98% compost (give or take) and coal (fossil fuel) is composed from fossilised sea creature shells, and those shells are made of CaCO3 (calcium carbonate) thus the shell has a high carbon content, hence why coal is mainly pure carbon

Technically speaking, there ARE only five in FF7. Omega is in Dirge of Cerberus and Jade is in Before Crisis.
