The issue between Irving and most serious historians is not just numbers. Irving says that Hitler was un-aware of the Final Solution and that it was not systematic. This suggests it was not as chilling as we have been led to understand (because therefore it was not so intelligently pre-medicated and Hitler is innocent). The historians reject this as astonishingly in-compatible with any objective adjudication of the facts. You are wrong to imply the gap has closed on Irving's illogical views.

The question annoyed me, but the problem was that nobody among the contributors to the program knew the answer to the question, which is why I particularly wanted to asked this question of someone who has made an in depth study of the matter. The answer here has been linked back to the footage where Tommy Boyd tries to contact David Irving on live internet radio.
