  • I cant hear anything

  • this is really beautiful

  • Ha, the comment - Nice but to many notes - Someone still has to sea the "Amadeus" - Mozart film... The emperor says... ".... nice, but to many notes...".... I personaly think; You play heavenly.

  • So fucking perfect.

  • stay away from jazz white boy... JK your amazing, i loved it :)

  • great stuff.....lose the jacket you would look more cool...lol...you play great...

  • Nice playing of a great standard, You inspired a video response. I hope that you like it. Best wishes, Dave ('Small Days')

  • nice guitar licks and good sound now I'am gonna trade my GB200 for GB10

  • heey guys, what is all that complaining?the guy plays beatifull!!!

I wish I could play like him!

    keep going brethunt

  • At 0.39 - 0.42 OOWWWWW!!! (James Brown style) Oh man that sounds great! lovely tasteful playing dude.

  • Another classic jazz standard, but maybe 7 people don't like another well played jazz piece! wello done and the guitar's sound is good, really jazzy!!!

  • Smooth as silk...i like it!

  • 7 people don’t appreciate clean, soulful, tasteful, lighting quick jazz phrases.

  • Hi, I can't see/hear clearly if you were playing diminished scale or minor harmonic at 0:33 ?

  • @sredlight Hey dude, it's more a harmonic minor thing. Bb melodic minor, or A altered scale (same scale). I also think F dominant which is the tri tone sub of A7. Hope that helps...

  • @brethunt77 Thanks, ok I was also thinking about playing melodic minor over this part... but not about F dominant. So I'll have to play around these notes (F A C Eb) right ? Thx for your help

  • @sredlight Sorry dude, I meant Eb dominat, not F... A semi tone above the 1 chord... So thats Eb, G, Bb, Db...

  • @brethunt77 I'm not sure to understand (I don't want to to get bored sorry :) (at 0:32) so over the A7 you mean to play Eb dominant ? (I just try to understand as far as I'm trying to find good licks to chorus). So it's like you said a tritonic substitution am I right ?

  • @sredlight Yep thats right dude... You can substitute a dominant chord with another dominant a 5b away. eg. A7 with Eb7... G7 with Db7.... Bb7 with E7 etc....

  • Nice playing, gotta love that GB-10!

  • what scale are you improvising over?

  • FANTASTIC THATS WAS SUPERB .....

  • cool man...cool

  • you are great...i can keep up with you for 1.03 and after that blank and got back at 2:51 again..:D mind explaining :) thanks in advance

  • what kind of picking technique are you using? it is not scalp is it? I notice you are holding the pick in a flat possition... if so doesn`t it snugg on the strings?

  • anyone could help with the basic chord progression of this please ??

  • pretty good man, thanks i particularly liked your interludes at 0:43

  • You sure know how to make a guitar swing.

  • nice sound but too many notes

  • @matimaui What?! To say that is like telling a painter who has his own style to paint a picture the way you think it should be painted. Its his own expression. Like his own opinion. If everyone played the way you think they should then no one would be unique. You criticizing him on this tells me that you're one of those guys who will never ever "get it". If its "too many notes" then how many exact notes should there be so that youll approve? ya douche

  • @matimaui That's your complaint? Come on, man. It's not if it's too many notes or not enough. It's if it swings or not.

  • I never knew an electric guitar could sound so good!

  • Good Phrasing and tone, definately have your own unique style going on

  • good job man !!!

  • Beautiful interpretation!

  • Excellent,

  • Great take man, All the best from B.A.

  • Excellent.

    Have you a tabs please?

  • nice bro.......keep doing it.......

  • ibanez george benson signature. i have a gibson 335

  • nice guitar

  • amazing.. guitar performance

  • How funny, my PRS sounds way better than your Hollow Body Ibanez GB Guitar...

    How ridiculous

  • @318825768 Go play some Santana with your PRS this style of music is beyond your capacity

  • Got my foot tappin" XD this is great !!

  • Awesome chops and great feeling. Where are you getting those lines from?

  • how do you do what he does at :30 and at 3:09? respond quick, I want to use this in a jazz competition tomorrow!

  • @RMJGuitar Hey dude.. Hold down the high D (1st string 10 fret) with your pinky, and the G (2nd string 8th fret) with your first finger. Play those two notes together and hammer on and pull off with your second finger one fret higher than you first finger (that will be the b5 in D minor). Then finish with your third finger on the F (3rd string 10th fret). To resolve slide that 3rd finger down to the D (3rd sting 5th fret).

Hope this helps dude, good luck!

  • @brethunt77 Sorry the last note D is 3rd string 7th fret, not 5th... ^^;

  • @brethunt77 I dont understand why the 1. String ( E ) on the 10th Fret ?

    You played the last 3 strings ( G B E )

  • @brethunt77 Is this the 0:30 and 3:09 lick? I need to go get a guitar and find out quick...I love that lick too. It's amazing how something that last 1/10 of a second can be so significant. But I guess that's one of the things that make playing so cool. I really like this video.

  • @RMJGuitar he is playing a rif based on minor pentatonic, pretty easy to identify...

  • @RMJGuitar

Dude ... that's freakin' cool at :30 & 3:09. Thanks for catching it.

  • Fantastic. Good tips about dunlop delrin 500 2.0mm.

  • who wrote this amazing song?

    great playing btw ;)

  • that was the shits. lol. great job.

  • cool

  • wow you are genius!

  • Awesome, Bret. Thanks for sharing!

  • Good job ...nice phrasing...

  • Great!

  • wow, fantastic!

  • really like this, man. Sounds like some nice martino lines thrown in there. Loving the tone.

  • Excellent!!! What size and style pick do you use? I really dig the tone.

  • @jonsolo1038 Thanks dude :-)

I've actually been trying a lot of different styles and sizes of picks over the last 6 months dude. And I really like the dunlop delrin 500 2.0mm. The thickness makes a big difference in the tone and also the material of the delrin is nice too. But using a thicker pick has made also me change the way I hold the pick. I think if you are going to use a thick pick, of softer grip usually works better... Actually I think a softer grip is generally better all round...

  • @brethunt77 Try Black Ice 1.5 They are amazing. Good point and have a cool no-slip coating. Just a bad ass pick. 4 bucks for 12 i think?

  • @brethunt77 I just received my order of V-Picks...they improved my right hand(picking) feel immediately.

Now I'm just gonna have to buy more...I'm addicted. Seriously though I think I've finally found the best pick(4me).

They are made of a patented blend of material that sticks to your fingers once warmed up.But do not leave any residue on your fingers. Check them out, there's a huge selection to choose from, and I think you may be surprised at the difference. I know I was. Keep on pickin'!

  • @jonsolo1038 Thanks, I've found the same thing to be true. Harder and/or thicker picks work better when held softly. I've never tried 2.0mm before, I'll have to give it a shot. Thanks again

  • Sweet, man!

  • 1:58

    this is great man!

  • nice

  • NIce Job.

  • this song is suppost to be minor and sad...not all upbeat and stuff...but i still like your playing

  • @7dayaddiction it's on Volume 43 of the Jamey Aebersold series. The title of that volume is 'Groovin' High'

  • wow.. wonderful standard jazz jam. is that goerge benson model of ibanez? so beautiful :)

  • i love this song

where did u got tabs ?

  • no tabs, it's improvisation

  • Very good!

  • holy swing. that was sick.

  • Sweet licks !...I'm loving this.

  • speaking of your tone, and not of your very George Benson / Wes Montgomery influenced playing, could i be able to reproduce a similar tone with a Ibanez AS125 + the roland cube 60? (5/5 stars)

  • most definitely dude. I would use the JC setting, keep it simple. But more importantly, listen to those guys a lot (George/Wes). Most of the tone comes from their fingers :-)

  • yeah, especially Wes and his "magic-thumb". - thanks for the quick reply. Would you mind me asking some more questions? anyways, cya.

  • nice

  • 5 STARS I subscribed but then noticed you have only the 2 vids? You should be all over the tube with such great ability guy!.post more stuff, so we can make you a big star!!! KEEPON STRUMMIN..DALLAS

  • what amp do you use?

  • I think I was using a old 'Musicman' amp. 65watts...

It was mic'd up with an SM57...

  • how can someone learn toimprove like this?

  • Well you can start with pentatonic scales, then you should be able to solo over a standard by just using chord tones. Finding a good teacher is always good :-) Thanks for watching..

  • very smooth.Nice work

  • Just PERFECT!!!.. An amazing jazz guitarist...

  • Thanks man!

    Its all improv dude...

  • Great!

How you create backtracking and how do you record it?

  • Thanks dude...

The backing track is from a Jamey Aebersold book. He makes backing tracks with live musicians. There great for practicing and learning tunes. You can get them on online or in most good sheet music stores.

  • I recorded the audio onto music software called 'Logic' and sync'd the visual on logic as well. It's quite easy.

  • Mate, your doing all the pieces i wanna do one step before me!

    5 stars mate.

    "...hush little baby...don't you cry!"
