Ha, the comment - Nice but to many notes - Someone still has to sea the "Amadeus" - Mozart film... The emperor says... ".... nice, but to many notes...".... I personaly think; You play heavenly.
Another classic jazz standard, but maybe 7 people don't like another well played jazz piece! wello done and the guitar's sound is good, really jazzy!!!
@sredlight Hey dude, it's more a harmonic minor thing. Bb melodic minor, or A altered scale (same scale). I also think F dominant which is the tri tone sub of A7. Hope that helps...
@brethunt77 Thanks, ok I was also thinking about playing melodic minor over this part... but not about F dominant. So I'll have to play around these notes (F A C Eb) right ? Thx for your help
@brethunt77 I'm not sure to understand (I don't want to to get bored sorry :) (at 0:32) so over the A7 you mean to play Eb dominant ? (I just try to understand as far as I'm trying to find good licks to chorus). So it's like you said a tritonic substitution am I right ?
@sredlight Yep thats right dude... You can substitute a dominant chord with another dominant a 5b away. eg. A7 with Eb7... G7 with Db7.... Bb7 with E7 etc....
what kind of picking technique are you using? it is not scalp is it? I notice you are holding the pick in a flat possition... if so doesn`t it snugg on the strings?
@matimaui What?! To say that is like telling a painter who has his own style to paint a picture the way you think it should be painted. Its his own expression. Like his own opinion. If everyone played the way you think they should then no one would be unique. You criticizing him on this tells me that you're one of those guys who will never ever "get it". If its "too many notes" then how many exact notes should there be so that youll approve? ya douche
@RMJGuitar Hey dude.. Hold down the high D (1st string 10 fret) with your pinky, and the G (2nd string 8th fret) with your first finger. Play those two notes together and hammer on and pull off with your second finger one fret higher than you first finger (that will be the b5 in D minor). Then finish with your third finger on the F (3rd string 10th fret). To resolve slide that 3rd finger down to the D (3rd sting 5th fret).
@brethunt77 Is this the 0:30 and 3:09 lick? I need to go get a guitar and find out quick...I love that lick too. It's amazing how something that last 1/10 of a second can be so significant. But I guess that's one of the things that make playing so cool. I really like this video.
I've actually been trying a lot of different styles and sizes of picks over the last 6 months dude. And I really like the dunlop delrin 500 2.0mm. The thickness makes a big difference in the tone and also the material of the delrin is nice too. But using a thicker pick has made also me change the way I hold the pick. I think if you are going to use a thick pick, of softer grip usually works better... Actually I think a softer grip is generally better all round...
@brethunt77 I just received my order of V-Picks...they improved my right hand(picking) feel immediately.
Now I'm just gonna have to buy more...I'm addicted. Seriously though I think I've finally found the best pick(4me).
They are made of a patented blend of material that sticks to your fingers once warmed up.But do not leave any residue on your fingers. Check them out, there's a huge selection to choose from, and I think you may be surprised at the difference. I know I was. Keep on pickin'!
@jonsolo1038 Thanks, I've found the same thing to be true. Harder and/or thicker picks work better when held softly. I've never tried 2.0mm before, I'll have to give it a shot. Thanks again
speaking of your tone, and not of your very George Benson / Wes Montgomery influenced playing, could i be able to reproduce a similar tone with a Ibanez AS125 + the roland cube 60? (5/5 stars)
most definitely dude. I would use the JC setting, keep it simple. But more importantly, listen to those guys a lot (George/Wes). Most of the tone comes from their fingers :-)
5 STARS I subscribed but then noticed you have only the 2 vids? You should be all over the tube with such great ability guy!.post more stuff, so we can make you a big star!!! KEEPON STRUMMIN..DALLAS
Well you can start with pentatonic scales, then you should be able to solo over a standard by just using chord tones. Finding a good teacher is always good :-) Thanks for watching..
The backing track is from a Jamey Aebersold book. He makes backing tracks with live musicians. There great for practicing and learning tunes. You can get them on online or in most good sheet music stores.

@matimaui That's your complaint? Come on, man. It's not if it's too many notes or not enough. It's if it swings or not.
