We are being tested so that when we confront him on the day of judgement we dont question and say why have you put me in hell without a reason or without me being tested.

Infinite punishment for a finite period of going through a predetermined "test" which you have no chance of passing is not exactly the behaviour of "the most merciful of those who show mercy" either.
