This a pretty good, yet obscure song... It's a shame Deep Purple "borrowed" the riff from the song for Smoke on the Water... i mean, come on, the guys never gave any credit to this song until recently and that's not saying much since they made a fortune out of Smoke on the Water for a very long time before they admitted it....

Lesson of this tale: You can "borrow" stuff from obscure songs as long as you are very lucky and no one notices it.

omg, I just read on wiki that this riff is the deep purple, smoke on the water, riff. like led zeppelin, some of the best riff were "borrowed." however, I must say I like the original and borrowed arrangements. As I was listening to this vid, I thought to myself, this sounds like Astrud Gilberto...well, because she does this song too.

i read in a magazine that maria moita is actually an old classical song and deep purple copied the riff from it but i dunno if its true.

This is not original song,first time song was performed Brazilian vocalist Astrud Gilberto (unfortunally AG song has been remooved from Youtube 2 month ago, but still you can find it on i-net) 5 years earlear than DP-Smoke on the water.I don't know if they "borrow" it,everything is possible!
