Okay, so i have run down which Seinfeld episode is playing in the background, it is season 6 episode 11 "The Label Maker" which is a great episode. Who would have thought that I could waste an afternoon on something so trivial all because I have ants overrunning my bathroom. Thanks for giving me a reason to prove my usefulness to this world!
yeah it works...I've had em gone for 3 days straight but now they're back, can someone please explain why they havent died?....I thought this stuff kills em
The Terro liquid ant killer does work fantastic, I've had to use it twice and WOW. Just hope the Democrats don't ban it for not being "sustainable" and shit.
wow I feel better about my comparatively smaller ant problem. But I've tried the Raid and Hot Shot brand plastic "dome house" type baits with so-so results, watching the majority of ants walk around the baits. They seem to attract ants within hours of opening the packages but then lose their attraction after a day or two. but then tonight I try this Terro brand stuff and I can't believe how 100% of the ants flock to it. And they're moving 20 times faster going to and from the bait.
@WaffleSandwiches Okay, at 00:29 I hear Jerry say "Maybe he liked it so much here that he decided come here and thank me" and at 00:54 I hear George say "oh, tube socks", I have this video out to my Seinfeld experts and we should hopefully crack the case soon. Oh and by the way I currently have about a thousand ants swarming on my bathroom window sill around 3 Terro ant cards (the old ones that you tare off the packaging). I have been re-applying the liquid every morning for the last 10days.
I have a minor black ant problem because I throw empty cans of coke in the waste baskets...i spent $10.00 on terro aunt traps...i set them out masking taped down to upside down paper plates...then I laid a trail of honey leading to the mouth of the trap...about 50 black ants have eaten from the poison. so far..../ @ milwaukee
I have tried different ant baits, but this is the only one which worked! I have been fighting these ants off all summer and at last I have found something that works! I HATE ants in my kitchen!!!
a friend of mine just bought me a terro a week ago. two days ago, i finally got to really use them for their purpose. my problem is the carpenter ants. they are like 10x bigger than the smaller ants. so far they have been sucking all the liquid and me adding more to it. we'll see if they all die!
that are really hard diggers :) I have 20 middle sized no harvest ants (catched by myself), and after 24hours they dig about 8cm of tunnels together and two died....
i just bought some of this stuff. i put 3 in the kitchen. one in the laundry room and one in each bathroom. hopefully it works man. im sick and tired of these ants.
once i caused a plague on fire ants so tragic it infected and killed the ENTIRE populations of 10 colonies!the death toll is about 10,000 due to heavy increases in fire ant population.
about 5 weeks ago i started a plague killing fire ants so deadly it killed the ENTIRE population of 10 colonies!.the death is about 10,000 due to high ant population growth It was a castrophy unleashed on them like no other... so many dead,so much despair,so much death.
I am using these ant baits right now and wanted to see if anyone else had posted a video. I put out 1 bait and within minutes, there was an army of ants marching to and from it. My ant invaders run along my wall underneath my top kitchen cabinets and right into my pantry. I ended up taping the bait upright on the wall in my pantry (because that is their favorite destination) and I couldn't believe how many appeared. Most people would be grossed out, but I'm ecstatic! Lol! DIE ghost ants!
I''m trying to live green, and this Terro liquid makes me feel good. It's better than going outside poisoning every ant that wanders by the perimeter.
Instead, you treat only the colony whose scouts have made it into the dwelling. Sure I'm green, but it's MY HOUSE and you guys get to go back outside and die.
We just put this stuff out on Saturday to take control of these damn ants in our kitchen, after we've had a pest control guy come out and spray three times. Within minutes the army was on it's way and the lined up in the bait like cows at stock tank! It's three days later and today there are still ants coming to the bait. I think it's doing the trick and I'm so relieved!!!
We had problems with carpenter ants at our house in north georgia. We put 6 of these traps out, and the ants literally came out of the wood work. It was amazing. The next day, no sign of any ants. This stuff really works.
THESE ARE NOT POISON!! Here's an excerpt from their web site: TERRO® Liquid Ant Bait is made with borax, a common active ingredient that is used in soap
products. The product kills ants but will not harm people or pets. Pets occasionally find the Terro and eat it. Our advice when this happens is to do nothing at all. The product is not toxic enough to cause a problem
and the pet will be just fine.
I'm glad, because my 1 yr old puppy just ate one!!
I set out two outdoor traps yesterday, and today they are all over them. I too have seen them bringing bits of debri to the poison, then some leaving with debri. It almost seems they are getting the poison onto the debri so they can carry more back to the nest! Hmmm, ants using tools??
If you read the information that comes with the traps, they aren't just bringing stuff to the trap. They are litterally trying to make an ant nest inside the trap.
This stuff works here O.K. I've tried ant stakes and other traps with mixed results. I used Terro liquid drops on pieces of thin cardboard. OK i guess so long as you don't have infants/children. It is a poison. On the downside, for me, it actually attracted more than I initially had. I ended up wiping everything down with vinegar and water, killing all I could see. Then I set out again as close to the entrance as possible so I didn't have to see so many.
We have a real problem with ants and somebody told us to mix sugar and bicarbinate of soda and put it out ... we've done that but still waiting for it to work. Does anyone know if bicarb is borax? If it hasn't worked by the weekend can you buy Terro in B&Q?
Yeah this stuff works great. I just bought some of these baits that are in the video and they attracted a huge number of ants..I have garden ants little larger than 1/4 inch and black. I seen no activity for 3 days then whammo they came by the hundreds the bait has borax in it so they take it back to the nest and the hole colony feeds takes about 10 days to a month to rid the ants...great stuff best I have come across yet..wal-mart has it no need to mail order.
I am having a really bad ant problem here. I been doing a lot of research and found Terro. I ordered some from Amazon and I'm hoping i'll get them before these ants go inside my PC lol. Thanks for the demonstration, I have a question for ppl that use terro, how long does it take to destroy the colony?
I just used them again recently this week. This time within 48 hours the majority disapeared from the counter top...a few lost ants are still wandering around.
The active ingredient is Sodium Tetraborate Decahydrate Borax. Wikipedia says it "is not acutely toxic.... This does not mean that it is safe, merely that a significant dose ... is needed to cause severe symptoms or death. Simple exposure can cause respiratory and skin irritation. Ingestion may cause nausea, vomiting, pain and diarrhea... headaches and lethargy..."
So handle with care, keep away from food, and dispose of thoughtfully..
Read the description about where to buy them. I dont know about gardens, you will have to read the box or contact Terro. Visiting their website may be a good start.
Yikes! That makess me itch! but thanks for posting. we just found sugar ants in our master bathroom and i'm trying to find a product that WILL Work. Thanks a million! out to buy some tonight!

JL157 i got these traps and i set them around the house and i havent seen one ant well maybe a few wanderers i have the carpenter ants (big black ones) and the really tiny brown ones in my bathroom under the heater and I found a bunch of the tiny ones munchin on a dead caterpillar on my driveway which i promptly roasted with my butane blow torch and made a video look up burning ants and look for my name in the description, hows extra crispy sound lol, i roasted a big one at the end of the vid
This stuff works wonders. I tried $50 worth of other stuff, to no avail; my room got overrun with them almost overnight. Then I put out two of the 6 traps I got for $5 and bam, my ant problem was solved in 48 hours, and pretty much solved by the 24 hour point. I totally endorse it.
No, but you can. I did it to get them to notice it faster, and to get better video.
If you poured it out, I immagine it would be possible to stain or discolor whatever it was poured on. I didnt have any problem with the counter top.. Just wipe up the area after they are done with some cleaner & antibacterial.
Does that stuff work really good??? Where do you buy it at??? I have just started having a pretty major problem pretty much all over my house. The ones in the kitchen are gone and now they are in the main bathroom an even in the chaise lounge!!!! I keep a VERY neat house to.
Thanks alot. I used Raid but I know it's only temporary. It only kills off the ones you see. Thanks for your posting, I'm actually going to try this, and I'm still having a pest control company come in to spray next week.
have the ants come back? do you have to keep using bait every couple months? i just had a bunch of ants (they look exactly the same as yours) invade my kitchen sink area... using those little plastic baits right now
I have not seen a single ant in that general area ever since they died, shortly after the video was posted.
I actually havent had anymore ants invade at all, except for the few wanderers that manage to find their way to my tv, my desk, my floor...anywhere they get lost at.
I find that if you setup a few to get them gone the first time.. Just place one here, one there, as a preventative. You could probably make good use of that along the base of your house.
Geez maybe if you wouldn't leave them coke bottles around....No just kidding...anyway I lived in my house for ten years never had problems with ants til this year. The previous owner had left a bottle of Terro and I am using it as we speak. The package the bottle is in looks like something from the 60's but it looks like it's working.
I havent tried the bottles yet..Just these compact packs that you can pop in anywhere without a sticky mess. The coke bottles are something my mother collects..They range from 15-40 years old.
How many recommended traps should be layed out for the ants (the indoor liquid death ramp bait)? Should I do all 6 at once or a couple at a time?

borax and baking soda are NOT the same thing. Borates are among the oldest used pesticides. Fipronil is a better ingredient for ant control.
