  • December 6th not 5th... because 6th is St. Nicolas Day

  • My German teacher started playing this song randomly during our test in class xD the test was on Christmas vocab. This is why I love having German class \m/

  • @MrDawgie19 That is rad! My mom is a Math teacher and plays this for her students every year before X-Mas break.

  • This is sweet!!

  • love this but one thing, 'He travels round with Santa Claus', St. Nikolaus isn't Santa!

  • Krampus is not from Switzerland, Krampus is from Austria

  • Funny and true but I think the krampas is drawn a little too cutely he is a nasty figure that is supposed to scare you straight, and the comment about christmas being pegan, it may have roots in pegan cultures but christmas is what it is to celibrate the birth of our lord, and that person who said that must be amish or something as some of them say there is no need for holidays, everyday is supposed to be christmas, and let Jesus be born in your heart every day, but, I say it does call for a day

  • @jdobbsrosa hey email me your mailing address ill send you my Krampus card, been sending them out for years

  • i love how they named the anti-santa krampus.how did they come up with it anyway?

  • Ich liebe, wie sie die anti-santa krampus.how kamen sie mit ihm sowieso benannt?

  • Ich liebe, wie sie die anti-santa krampus.how kamen sie mit ihm sowieso benannt?

and for the non-germans...i love how they named the anti-santa krampus.how did they come up with it anyway?

  • I want a Krampus now. I can sick him on my VERY annoying little cousins;)

  • @TerryB01 Just a few months and Krampus will deal with them. Let them know they are at risk if they don't shape up.

  • @JDobbsRosa Will do! They have more than getting coal to worry about now:D

  • This's genius.

  • This makes me happy.

  • krampus is the coolest think and not a joke in southtyrol is a cool krampus day at 5 december thats cool okay but that is funny really funny realy i like it

  • I just howled when I saw this. Hilarious. I'm from a part of North Central WV that still embraces lots of old Swiss & German traditions. Check out Helvetia, WV Fasnacht. I remember very well the bundle of switches around the holidays. I just love this. Thanks :)

  • @LunarDeity Wow. Thanks for the kind words. Glad my little silliness found just the right audience. Merry Krampus!

  • LOL !!! a little while ago i got a random shirt from woot that said "Greetings From Krampus!" and i had no idea what (or who) 'krampus' was! but a little help from this song and wikipedia i am now well informed about this devilish hell figure. :-)

  • So in reality, bad boys and girls don't get coal from santa!

Bad boys get whipped and beaten by this demonic Krampus figure

And bad girls get kidnapped to become his sex slave.

Well, I would expect this from a peagan holiday like Christmas. To hell with it...

  • ... It's pronounced KrOMpoos.

  • ThONk Yooo for the inpoot.

  • whack is spelled whack

  • Lol yesterday my teacher instead of having us draw cards with x-mas trees and stuff on them we drew this guy and stuff like Merry Krampus! We also drew somthing called a pooping log... look it up

  • i always wondered what was up with that horned guy

  • Very informational and now I think I know who stole my bike! Catchy tune...

  • WTF??? switzerland?

In Austria is the krampus/perchten :P

  • Krampus traditions exist in Austria, Switzerland, Bavaria, Slovenia, western Croatia and Italy.

I'm pretty sure he grew up in Switzerland though. Largely because it is easier to rhyme.

  • kind of the precedent of what we in holland call

'Zwarte piet', the helper of Sinterklaas (santa clause..)

tonight (5th of december) we celebrate Sinterklaas.

  • Indeed. Early on there was a verse that addressed Zwarte piet. Thanks for watching.

  • This is wonderful! It will be the video centerpiece of my Holiday party.

  • wow, awesome. Love it!!!

  • Catchy as hell, and I learned a bit, too!
