I was seven when I first seen this....after it was over I looked back at my dad and said REWIND IT. It's certainly why I wanted to become a film maker
Best Terminator film, no questions asked. It was more action-packed and fleshed-out than the first one (which is still good; my second favourite in the series), actually made you feel for the Terminator, who'd previously been the main villain, when he died...and the soundtrack is fucking kick-ass. Perhaps one of the best films ever made.
Hey Everybody! I have just released my new album 'Unhinged' which is greatly inspired by Brad Fiedel's soundtrack work in the Terminator series. You can stream or download the full album for free on my youtube channel!
@KoRL12 all peoples have different taste and I don't care if you like star wars or not I'm just happy to know that you are dumb who don't like star wars
Star wars is cool now because its nerdy in a cool way. If you disect the movie and look past the camera work, the movie doesnt really hold up. Fans has made a universe out of the movies. But without the universe the movies fail.
@KoRL12 wtf how could you even say that. it was made 30 years ago and many of the graphics in current movies right now cant even match up 2 it...the prequels arent as good though
WHAT a truly classic intro! Nothing CGI today can ever have the same impact as setting a playground on fire and just filming it as it burns. Natural, chaotic, hopelessness. Back when a single scene could stir up emotion instead of just "oh look at the effects, i'm glad i just paid $18 for 3D" WHY is there no cinematography anymore??
The music is so moving. It just really gets you. Whoever made this theme song for this movie is or was an amazing muscial genius who knew how to make music that's so good that it's really catches you in a certain way that you feel like that you're in a world where dreams are broken and everything is gone. Suriviors fighting for their lives. Again, amazing music
one of the most memorable movie theme tracks...not to mention that this was one of the (if not the) best action movies of all time. I can still recall how arnold's nemesis shattered into pieces and then reformed! it was the sweetest special effect of its time.
This is one of the few movies that has come close to making me cry. Pure beautiful. Best of the series by far. Arnold's death is one of the most epic and saddest death's in movie history, I literally forgot that I was even watching a movie when he was dying. And this songs is just so sad and epic it just feels.......it's too hard to describe this epicness. Arnold Schwarzrenegger and James Cameron make an awesome duo.
over the years growing up i dont really like T2 as much as i used to... infact i find the whole movie really far fetched and kinda dumb. (please - dont bother replying with hate). BUT - i still think it has the greatest intro credits scene to any movie i have ever seen.
I think the reason why terminator has had the most impact to society then any other sci-fi movie is because unlike vampires or werewolves or aliens..... machines/robots are real things and this could happen if A.I gets too advance
Can you imagine what they were thinking back when they were in storyboard phase? 'What should be the intro?' 'How about an abandoned playground?' 'Sure, that really lends to the dismal outlook of the post-apocalyptic setting we're trying to convey.' 'Also, let's light it on fire.'
Ah the one and only reason movies of today fail they don't have composed music like this any more. Where was this tune in t-3 and salvation? t-3 had it briefly while the credits rolled but salvation didn't at all it was the only thing i didn't like about salvation this tune is what makes the first 2 terminator films epic.
The best theme song ever. Always sends shivers up my spine, gives me goosebumps and makes me cry. Beautiful song. Genius makers and musicians of the film. BEST FILM EVER TIED WITH ''ALIENS'' IN MY OPINION.
Every now and then, just after I get out of the shower, I call to my girlfriend to come in (like it's urgent)...I hold my head down and get into a power stance (while naked), and once she enters...I start beat-boxing the drum line to this as I slowly raise my head....she usually responds with "c'monnn"...but I know she digs it.
i think when you look back at films like these, wqhen they actually made the action themselves and not computer generated litrally everything. You rellise we actually took a step backwards didnt we?
I'll tell you all a secret: the theme music represents the struggle between man and machine. On one hand, you have the insistent drum rhythm "Pa-dump, pa, pa-dump, BUMP-BUMP" that represents the terminator VS. the more "melodic" part, which is more "human". They are superimposed on each other in order to illustrate, musically, the conflict of the story! Simply amazing!!!
The plot of T3 just took a huge shit on the Terminator franchise yet it did have amazing violence and destruction but the fans of the terminator franchise would have made T3 a better movie.
@Affenhaug I gotta agree. Although I think T3 works good as an action flic but sucks as a Terminator movie. The only thing that had a real "Terminator-Feeling" was the ending which I loved.
I want my family to come to my grave every year after I die on the anniversary of my death and play this song.
