This is true. I also felt this way for a while until I understood what the impressionist were going for. I wouldn't say sloppy though because even though its not carefully drawn, the color values are accurate.

People -and by "people" I mean critics and art historians- seem to forget (or never notice) that Monet was a superb draftsman. Look at the caricatures he did at seventeen; they demonstrate considerable precocity, comparable to that of La Trec at that age.

Monet is astounding. I've grateful to have seen many of his work in art exhibitions around the USA and in France. Though this video does not have some of my Monet favorites, I still think it is great. Great music too. if I were stranded on a desert island and could have only one artist's pictures it would be Monet's works!

W.W.I took care of that!! from that point on' art takes on a much darker nature. Industrial War!! Old Europe gone forever. Flowers ripped by shrapnel. dissent in the trenches. Fascism, Marxism, Anarchism, Pacifism, and the innocent trapped in a swirling mass of torment and loss.
