No, I compared how they began. Nobody had to say one human was different than another. It was those who were full of pride that felt they were better than others who began the discrimination, and the same thing happened with the idea of someone being gay. The only exception is that being gay is based off of peer pressure more often than it is truly based off of the person being born that way. Normal physical attractions are natural. To have them changed requires a very powerful opposing force.
I understand what you are saying, but you're wrong. :) Being homosexual wasn't at all, about 'peer pressure' for me, I simply never thought of the opposite sex that way. There isn't a doubt that there is some people who are capable of being attracted to both sexes, but there is also some people who (like myself) who simply were never attracted to the opposite sex, and therefore lack that flexibility. Everybodies brain is wired differently.
As for your suggestion that your sexuality can be CHANGED- Do you know how many people go on that journey and find that it was just a wild goose chase? You cannot 'cure' something that isn't a disorder. Some men attempt to pull off a complete facade and force themselves to start a life with a woman (with children) but I guarantee you later on down the road.. he realizes he isn't happy. THAT is an effect of Peer Pressure.

Scientists believe it's a chemical imbalance, I believe it's an idea as a result of some form of idea that you are that way. Pretty much exactly like inception. I am gay, I met my partner 22 years ago. We were married 3 yrs ago. We were both brought up with no religion what so ever. We are happy as hell. Well i dont know much about this but I dont think a 14 year old girl in our day would constitute as a 14 year old girl in the early 1800s, it was a common practise for girls under 18 to marry but to compare our day to the 1800s is a bit unfair and I dont think Joseph was sleeping with her anyway but Im not sure, what I do know is our sealing ordinances played a big part in the Wives thing and goes beyond the natural thinking of man, I will look into it tho!

I'm LDS and I have a lot of friends that were raised LDS and even served missions that are Gay and have left the church. I can see the struggle it would be. being gay doesn't make you bad, acting on it is a no no. No, I compared how they began. Nobody had to say one human was different than another. It was those who were full of pride that felt they were better than others who began the discrimination, and the same thing happened with the idea of someone being gay. The only exception is that being gay is based off of peer pressure more often than it is truly based off of the person being born that way. Normal physical attractions are natural. To have them changed requires a very powerful opposing force.

I understand what you are saying, but you're wrong. :) Being homosexual wasn't at all, about 'peer pressure' for me, I simply never thought of the opposite sex that way. There isn't a doubt that there is some people who are capable of being attracted to both sexes, but there is also some people who (like myself) who simply were never attracted to the opposite sex, and therefore lack that flexibility. You cannot 'cure' something that isn't a disorder. Scientists believe it's a chemical imbalance, I believe it's an idea as a result of some form of idea that you are that way. Pretty much exactly like inception. It can be indirect, or pushed on you by people who call you gay, or even just you thinking "maybe" you are. All I know is if you dwell on something like that long enough you're bound to convince yourself of it.

So for all the people at the first baptist church I went to when I gave my life to God, when he said the holy ghost told him to tell everyone to put an extra 100 in the tithing, I'm sure his followers didn't question it, if they are stupid.

But Christ is NOT on earth so He has called men worthy to lead us in these latter days. And when these men speak they speak as if it were Christ Himself speaking to us. In the LDS faith we have no paid clergy. It is ALL voluntary but the leaders are chosen by Heavenly Father and Christ and these earthly..

Well you haven't spoken anything negative like most people that reply to my posts, so I am not quite sure of your motive, but yes, I have seen it first hand people who believe in mens words to brainwash them, I was victim to being vain believing peoples lies and giving people too much benefit of a doubt, whatever that means, but I realized that so many people don't fear God and will lie and do anthing to make a dollar, and alot of other things.

Well i dont know much about this but I dont think a 14 year old girl in our day would constitute as a 14 year old girl in the early 1800s, it was a common practise for girls under 18 to marry but to compare our day to the 1800s is a bit unfair and I dont think Joseph was sleeping with her anyway but Im not sure, what I do know is our sealing ordinances played a big part in the Wives thing and goes beyond the natural thinking of man, I will look into it tho!

I can see the struggle it would be. being gay doesn't make you bad, acting on it is a no no. As a religion, we believe that the PRACTICE of homosexuality is a sin, not just having the feelings. Sure, we have different views on this than most people, but we're not actively bashing you.
