What we have here is just a big misunderstanding of culture and styles and hopefully in the future both schools would be educated on those differences.
I'm so disappointed in so many of these comments. I wish we as Alcornites would show a little more class and not get involved in these back and fourth arguments. The funniest part about the Troy v Alcorn game--was that Alcorn's band would play these random Marches in the middle of all of these hip hop and R&B songs.
I liked the Post game--but in all seriousness, I was ready to GTFO of there before it had even started.
Well, I thought that ASU did a great job. I'm glad that we had a visiting band in the stadium. I enjoyed the post-game as well. We don't get alot of guest bands here and I like eing able to play songs back and forth to each other. There is nothing wrong with a little friendly musician concert. ASU have their style and we have ours. And I agree with lovewalk101, we should show more class when we do have a guest band. But thanks ASU for coming and playing your hearts out.

And that postgame performance concept (what HBCUs call a 5th Quarter)... it was borrowed from Sam Griffin (Director of Bands at Alcorn St. University)and spread across the south. I'm glad the concept found ur BDs.
We thought yall were aware of the postgame format that we use. if u weren't, GET OVER IT. If yall are that sensitive and critical of something that's different, then i hope ur school doesn't pay anymore bands to show up and do what they do best.
too bad our band director is a composer and works for Warner Brothers and everything we play is original and written specifically for the Sound, so I suggest next time you and try and insult our creditability you might want you check your facts. sorry a lot of big words in there... and it doesn't matter where the supposed "concept" you speak of comes from, it matters that we were celebrating a LANDSLIDE victory and you were rude and played during it. its a little thing called respect...

I disagree. I'm a member of the sound of the south. I don't think of ASU as anything negative. They have passion for what they do just as we do. They have fans who love them just as we do & appreciates their style and sound of music just as it is. They work hard at what they do just like we do.
