  • One ManTEN fingers MAGIC and a superb trombone ILike wow wow

  • anyone know the chord progression here?

  • @lolcanozor It's blues, so it's a variation of I I I I / IV IV I I / V IV I I.

  • Man, Cleve swings so hard here.

  • Semplicemente inarrivabili...

  • You can never really tell if the Count likes Eatons playing or not

  • This is not good time blues. This is Booty's blues

  • Cant forget about Freddie Green

  • cleve is playing just like this rhythm section would do booty's blues, and then booty had a plunger solo too!

  • The $1,000,000 rhythm section.

  • @leo2nd74 The best description ever!

  • I like how at :40 Basie played the shuffle-riff and then abandoned it but not before the drummer took the queue and played accordingly.

  • I like that ultra high note.

  • Count Basie was the king of 'less is more' piano play , it's pure awesomeness

  • @ex59neo53 Exactly!! that's what makes so special his playing!!

  • Cleveland Eaton is a bad man.

  • @theinvisiblelight If you say...

  • @OscarPetersonFan I mean it in the way that he is a great player. He brings the pain.

  • @theinvisiblelight i agree!!!

  • Yeah, they're great! But I really like his earlier Big Band arrangements.. "Fast and Happy Blues", things like that! That's when he really sounds great! But don't get me wrong, this is top af the notch!

  • I know what you mean, but it's a different band. The first Count Basie Orchestra dissapeared during the war, and Basie formed this new band in 1947.

  • Thanks for the factography on that! Good to know!

  • Great sound from the Count!

  • I love his simple licks
