@delta757200 yes p-factor (decending propeller blade having more thrust than the assending) along with engine tourqe (turning crankshaft), spiriling slipstream (acts on the rudder) and gyroscopic presesion all cause a left turning tendency.
I just ordered the plans for the 71" Albatross and am looking forward to building it. Any tips towards building it?
ok now to the video. i see what looks like the correct aileron deflection at the moment of impact. That may be from the crash.ddint see any rudder movement on take off. what i see is induced thrust from the left engine, since the right engine started before the left and sounds like brushless. both motors need the same thrust to keep the heading. also you may want to counter rotate the props to stop the so called "p" effect. yes the direction may have an effect.
The Video is cool, and keep the music.Take it from this sixty year old. The other 60 year old sucks. i saw these when i was in. They are one of the great planes from our country.
Use ruder when taking off to counter act P effect this is a classic result when using aleirons to correct wings attitude . power is right . one clic down for elevator will correct tail heaviness .
I too, followed your thread on RCgroups. Yes it is a passion. I was hoping to see your plane fly but not like this. It seems worse than loosing a family pet. My seawind did that 4 times in a row before I permantly retired it.
I`ve followed your build on rcgroups and i must say this is one of the best airplanes i have ever seen!! Having had not so much luck with maidens myselfe i wince everytime i see yours! I truy hope you get the time soon to rebuild an dget her in the air !!
Come un angelo con le ali nuove, qualcosa di bellezza cosí squisita deve volare ancora! (translation compliments of Babelfish, so apologies for any bad grammar). It was an honor to witness the maiden voyage, regardless of its brevity and outcome.
Nice editing, and good choice of music. Thanks for using my shakey footage! I think you may have forgotten my dad in the rescue credits, but he might have wanted to be unmentioned.
Break your heart that would...beautiful work however!
