Guys, FYI, the ray was just how it was in the beta. It was a placeholder. Don't grind the ray in hopes of using it underwater. Notice that the "swim" points are also rays in the beta but are very much seahorses on live.

@lolzomgz1337 You get a buff that allows you to breathe underwater while you're in the vashj'ir zones. And the 'flight paths' are really 'swim paths'. You mount up on a manta ray.

@Ozmancometh1 you first arrive in Vashj'ir after a boat ride from a quest called " Call to Duty" the main purpose of the boat ride was to help the alliance (or horde) in the war over seas but then you stop and see a capsized ship with survivors on shortly after giant tentacles,that have the model of the yogg-saron tentacles rise up out of the ocean and knock the survivers off then they surround your ship grab your character and throw it into the water. Naga capture the npcs onboard, one tries to

@superwowman100 Capture you while your drowning (with the npcs and other players that were onboard) but Erunak the stonespeaker from the Earthern ring blows the naga into meat chunks and puts an air bubble around you then you get teleported to an airpocket in the ship you rode on that sank after that he gives you a quest to get your " sea legs " which increase your swim speed and gives you underwater breathing (buff appears everytime you enter vashj'ir) then you start your quests from there

@dubbeltid I agree since if you type in WoW emerald dream you will find videos showing a green area thats called ' The Emerald Dream ' and its already look like its been worked on and some -ppl say there will be a Maelstrom expansion but the maelstrom is just a portal that leads to deepholme for this expansion and that swimming mount is a model of the Nether ray which is a BC flying mount and its a place holder for the seahorse mount called 'Abyssal seahorse'

So the speed buffs basically make it to where you move normal walking speed while swimming and they swimming mount moves the same speed as your 280% flying mount.
