This song is amazing. It's just a list of experiences, and yet it brings a wash of feelings. the playtime between the two voices makes it all fun. I'm sorry the song ends every time I hear it. Antonio Carlos Jobim was a gift.
What a delicious version of the most perfect pop song to ever come out of Brazil! Akiko and Corinne stepped into Elis Regina's shoes, and walked away with them. And I love the SOS touch towards the end of the song! Just marvelous! And the laughing at the end is perfect!
I never liked this song--no offense to Tom Jo. I always found it to be self-indulgent and repetitive. HOWEVER, this version is beyond bearable. Great job, ladies. I could do without the giggles at 3:05 that were a direct copy of one of the Jobim versions, although they do develop this device. The arrangement gets interesting as it goes along, too, which is a plus.
The song is of course available on Akiko CD's two of them one a import the other a compliation of some of her stuff. Akiko has done many albums. And I am not Japanese just a Akiko fan as well as a fan of SoS... So look up Akiko any search should bring you to her stuff... :D

Wow... Consider me blown away. I've been a fan of Corinne Drewery for years, and this is among the best stuff she's done. I'm unfamiliar with Akiko, but after this, I'm going to have to look into her. Thanks for posting this!
I adore this song. Perfect synergy between two artists and IMHO, the best cover of the tune out there. I actually tried to download it from a foreign pay site and I got a bleedin' virusfrom it. Anyone know of a way I can get a download of the full length version of this out of print title?
Every time i visit this song I think to myself: "I had forgotten how cool this tune is."
What a lovely, inspiring tune by Akiko and Corrine. the give and take the response and call. the arrangment is superb. What an artistic milestone. Love it. Love it. Love it.
Superb! Tom Jobim would surely have loved this version of his "Águas de março". BTW, I'm impressed by how much Japanese musicians appreciate Brazilian music! And they do a very good job both in reinterpreting what's already been recorded by Brazilian artists and in creating new songs with a blend of tradicional Brazilian rhythms, such as samba and bossa, and modern electronic trends. Just have a check at Jazztronik and Mondo Grosso to see what I mean.
Well, there are lots of Japanese descendants living in Brazil, so Japan and Brazil are in good terms. There's even a Japanese singer who was born in Brazil, called Lisa Ono, who sings bossa-nova. She's pretty good, by the way. Check her work out, maybe you'll like it :)
The song is on the CD "Electric Bossa", which can be obtained easily (the other content is not that good, but this song alone is just worth the purchase).
This comes from a Brazilian: this version is absolutely fantastic!!! It captured brilliantly the essence of the song - joy for the fantastic mystery that life is... Long life to Corinne and Andy! and Akiko!
flippin fantastic, could i love Corinne anymore, the answer is yes because she keeps doing good music, more to expect and more to love, keep showing this planet what peace, class and music is all about. also i like this Akiko!!!!
This song, written by Antonio Carlos Jobim (of course), is my favorite song of all time. And, while this is a very interesting version, I'm not crazy about the silliness at the end (but I do love Corinne Drewery/Swing Out Sister, and Basia, who also did a great version), the ultimate cover of this brilliant song was recorded by Sergio Mendes and Brasil '88.
Wonderful. I love Rio's Bossa Nova.

A friend obtained a pay for download version of this song for me.
Unfortunately, the version I have is missing the last 30 or so seconds in this great version.
Can somebody direct me to the CD with the extended Waters of March.
I absolutely love this, Corrine and Akiko.
