ah the 2.5d awesomeness of Doom. I remember when i was little i used to talk to my friends at school and set up servers ahead of time it went like this i think:

"hey man wanna play Doom after school?"

"Yeah sure man hey wanna invite that other guy too?"

"Oh yeah lets invite him too and ill invite my sister too she loves the game!"

"allright see ya in doom!"

Those were better times. Those were simpler times. ^3^

@Blox5320 Haha that really made my day, my memories are very similiar, except i have a brother, not a sister. :D But yeah, awesome game everyone was playing, and it just kept on getting better on the release of Quake, thats a game EVERYONE on our school played. (Back then people played good games, unlike CoD now. -.-)

the doom.wad and doom2.wad are very nesesary to play any doom engines (zdoom, jdoom gzdoom skulltag, etc). u can buy it on id soft. page or pm me for it.

you could try the internet for a collectors edition.... those are by default 1.9 and should give you no problems patching. If not, you shall have to patch, go to id's site for the patches. Be aware, for today's standards it's a horrendous job.

Nope, Rivecoder dosnt host servers. Skulltag runs well if the servers upstream is enough to handle everybody.

No, I connected normally from a standard DSL line. However, this server is rather close to me. I normally get pings in the 40s or 50s, vs 70s and above.
