But it's kinda diffrent your untrained ear has a problem hearing the guitars when the drums are like that because it's not used to it but I can hear the guitars perfectley.

However Amon Amarth uses less drum(but still kick ass with it) and therefore they are more catchy..

But those who are already used to heavier drums usually need faster,and harder drums like here..

this beat also gives "atmosphere" you can say.

It's only new bands like Gorgoroth and Dimmu Borgir (and the swedish MLO bands like Dissection) that try and do the whole satanist thing. I think there are more satanic lyrics from slayer than there is from most original norwegian black metal. Its just a stereotype. @romcnulty: Idk what "black metal" you've been listening to but when it started out it was almost all about Satan. A lot of bands still do the satanic theme. Also Gorgoroth and Dimmu Borgir certainly aren't new bands. Gorgoroth has been around since '92, Dimmu has been around since '93. As far as I know Dissection and Diabolicum are the only TotBL (not MLO anymore) bands. You need to do some further research into the genre man.

Nah, I got this track from a mate when he did a metal compilation for me and this was on there. This was 4/5 years ago so I was 16/17 at the time? I was getting bored of Slipknot and all that Nu-metal/metalcore shit and I craved for something heavier.
