4-axis means that the motion of the machine is controlled by 4 independent servo controllers. x-axis is table longitudinal travel (L-R), y-axis is table cross travel (F-B), z-axis is spindle head up/down and c-axis is for a rotary table (not supplied with this machine). I hope this helps - Paul

The machine is wired for 4-axis. There is no rotary indexing attachment.
