Sir, I currently own a USB PG27 and I am getting some a very slight but noticeable noise when recording with it. When there is nothing but silence, you can hear a small small hint of noise (gain)... but in your video here there is absolute silence when you are not speaking.
Would it be the software I am using to record with? I use Audacity.
Any tips? I've tried decreasing db and volume, but it seems I cannot get rid of the noise. Even in total silence with everything turned down it's there.
@mark84j get an electrician to check if your outlets are properly grounded (removing the 3rd leg to plug into a 3 prong outlet is a NO NO), everything you use for recording must be grounded otherwise you will hear noises, and it's quite dangerous use non-grounded equipment.
i just bought the PG27USB, very happy of the sound quality. Unfortunately the signal LED doesn't lit up normally. I have to actually yell to see it green and it's nearly impossible to have it orange. I've adjusted the mic gain on the Shure but impossible to have the signal LED green without 100% clipping in Audacity (and i'm at 0db setting in the knob behind). Any idea if there is a setting to adjust that or could it be faulty?
@schneo@schneo Ok i found a solution. I put the mic slider to zero on Audacity and the mic gain to max on the Shure and it seems to behave normally then. Not sure if it's the way to do though.
@schneo If your LED is on, I would first check device mgr. (Win) or Core Audio (OSX) to be sure you have communication to the DAC. I'm mostly color blind, so org/grn look the same to me.
The mic gain should get you good levels mid-range. Then check your (PC?) mixer settings and be sure the input gain is fairly high.
For some reason, my PG27 USB mic won't work and become detectable unless I play around with the stand adapter, like screw it or unscrew it until the green USB light turns on. Would anyone help me about this issue?
Oh also curious bout MXL USB.009 and studio 1. There's so many I'm not sure which is the best for the money int he USB arena. Sorry for the extra comment. but the shure sounds really good.
Great video. The mic sounds excellent! I've been trying to find a good USB mic for vo, screencapture, and vlogging. I'm curious your thoughts on the Blue Yeti, Rode Podcaster as well. Looking forward to the 47 when you put that vid out! Thanks!

@YoungOGz - good question. I have both. To my ears, they both sound the same, without processing.
I prefer the USB for 'on the road' and the XLR version in-studio where I can process in real time.

@xxsladedethxx if you can handle the feedback, and you're fine with the USB yes, but i doubt you will be able to use this without extremely feedback.

This is a lot more expensive than the audiotechnica 2020, is it a lot better too?
