I was born in Russia, and I live in USA. And I am a Falun Dafa practitioner. I have never been to China. The practice of Falun Dafa elevated my spirit. I do not know what the depression is anymore, and because I do not have depression, my illnesses were gone. There is no reason to do what the chinese govt. has done to the pratitioners of Falun Gong. I alos believe that people should know more about Li Hongzi before they say they are so into "truthfulness". The fact that a regime is so against a/any religion is not in itself a reason to believe. Many good things about Falun Gong but their are also truths that are NOT being told regarding Li Hiongzi. Who DOES put himself above Buddha and Jesus. Yet, Falun gong claims to 'not' be a religion.

1, it should have a place of worship example; temple, mosque, church.

2. There should be worship towards gods.

3. consist of different rituals, regular religious services

4, have a membership

@BiReal It is a while since you posted your comment. I only saw it today and thought I should tell you that Master Li himself has said that FG is not a religion but a cultivation path. It's just that those who judge this matter superficially can't see the difference between the two and it is they who call it a religion. Also there are 84,000 recognized cultivation paths the world over but they keep themselves hidden maybe because of the persecution they would suffer too.

Just copy those words in YouTube search to watch it. It shows Li floating in the sky as the Buddha and the highest being in the universe. This is a real Falun Dafa video in Chinese. This will show you what Falun Dafa practitioners really believe about Li. This is a video they don't want Westerners to see.

Falun Gong is just a pseduo form of qi gong. There are many other authentic forms of qi gong that are scientifically proven to work. Don't get mixed up with this cult. Falun Gong practicioners are told to listen on to one man, "master" Li. He's a fraud who even changed his birth certificate so it would coincide with the Buddha's. Before he cooked up this elaborate scheme, he was a just a horn player in the PLA. He's not a real teacher, just a fake. Get the facts!

Falun Gong is also scientifically proven to be effective, even by the CCP themselves! They did a survey in the 90's that found millions of practitioners were receiving dramatic health benefits from practising Falun Gong. When they found that there were SO MANY Chinese people practicing, they became so jealous of Master Li's influence that they banned the practice, and spread lies about Falun Gong like the ones you repeated to ensure they can continue the persecution unquestioned.

Practicing Falun Gong helped me a lot, both mentally and physically. I was having a lot of back pain because of scoliosis, but now I can do any kind of work without having to worry at all. And my relationship with family and friends improved tremendously, as I became less selfish and more truthful, compassionate and tolerant =)

TheCharleycat, I think after watching this clip we can see that Falun Gong does not resemble a cult at all. It's really sad to see that a lot of mainland chinese people view it as one since the chinese communist party banned it back nearly a decade ago. All those things state above require lots of money, to pay the employees and buy equipments. I want to know how does a non-profit organization manage come up with all the funds. I do not believe they get majority of their funds for  their believers. Although it has many non-Chinese followers, the majority of followers are still Chinese. There aren't employees in "The Epoch Times" newspaper or the "NTDTV" channel. Those people actually volunteer to help. I know because my mum helps the Epoch times. NTDTV is actually run by Dafa disciples, they volunteer to do the work, i help the Epoch times every week voluntarily. No one gets paid.

Fourth, they have their own musical show, they are playing at different cities. Last, this is a high organized organization, they can easy stage parade and protest.

i have been following story of falun gong for couple years, I am not here to judge its practice and belief, for i am not a practitioner. However, i do have a question about the Falun gong organization as a whole. The only question i would like to get an answer is how does an exiled religious group mange to get enough funding for all the stuff they do.

Believe it or not, they all come from Falun Gong practitioner's own pocket as far as I have witnessed. I'm a relatively new practitioner and I've known some practitioners with tight budgets, especially old practitioner ladies, who try really hard to save money to support Falun Dafa events, such as transportation costs, equipment costs, airfares, etc. I find it encouraging because they're all doing this just so that those who still deserve to know the truth can and will obtain it.

Master Li (founder of Falun Gong) is the second person in history (John Lennon being the first, who was somewhat worthy of the title) to claim that he was bigger than Jesus. He openly stated in a Chinese lecture that Jesus and Siddhartha were "minor gods" in the "Pantheon of Gods" and that he was the "Master Buddha of the Universe."

Did you notice that he left out Muhammad and Allah? I wonder why...

Actually, that's wrong, Master Li has mentioned (not quoted, something along the lines of this), as long as you cultivate you will suffer. Master Li said (not quoted,something along the lines of this) you won't be ill, but you will have to eliminate karma in the form of an illness. And if something bad happens it's seen as a good thing because it only came about because you cultivated in Dafa. If it's not that, it's because you haven't cultivated well,and you have clinged onto your attachments.

It's the same if you go to the mountains to practice in a Daoist or Buddhist temple. Whatever happens, comes about because you haven't done well. Why can the majority of practitioners continue to improve themselves? because they look inwards and look for their faults and fix them.

I agree that most people who badmouth don't really know what Falun Gong is. before 1999 Falun Gong never said anything against the ccp. Even when they were persecuted, at first all they did was go to the Appeals Bureau in Beijing andtell the government Falun Gong shouldn't be banned.

After years of persecution and thousands tortured to death it became clear that the only way to stop the persecution was for people not to obey the ccp and see it's evilness.
