But Marimba + 6 was composed before it even existed Nagoya Marimbas. Marimba + 6 is for 6 player and one Marimba, Nagoya is for two player on two Marimbas. On this Video you look a short cut, normally the duration time is 5:30 min
Hey guys... this isn't Nagoya Marimbas, and It's not a variation on it, because none of the thematic material is even close to the same. There are like 20 recordings of nagoya on youtube, so you just have to listen to one of those to know this isn't that.
I agree this sounds like an imitation of Reich, but not a very good one.
this is NOT repeat NOT Steve Reich's "nagoya marmibas". nagoya marimbas is a shorter piece for only TWO performers on TWO marimbas. "nagoya marimbas" features longer, less repetitive melodic patterns than this piece. its overall sound is much less dense and less static than this piece.
no disrespect intended, but this sounds like an amateurish imitation of Reich's style.

Sure is :D it's meant to be played on various marimbas, not one, so it's a little different. But fundamentally the same piece.
