that first sample was flipped better by ghostface killah IMO, and the "woman to woman" sample was hotter to me when EPMD/K-Solo did it in like 88 or whenever
Hip Hop brings new life to the samples. The reason why Puffy gets shit for what he does is that he doesn't take the record and make a new song out of it. When someone takes a song, samples it and creates a new feeling out of it that man is a skilled sampler. It's as if the record itself is a musical instrument.
you wont be able to listen to it in your car but if you go to xmradio canada you can create infinite trial accounts of xm for your comp. i dont think the american website gives trials.
man please shut up rap started from some one who heard a beat from a song and made their own song, music came way before rap even befor radio,i bet if you do more research you will find that the jbs sampled someone also james brown did to,he was just able to patient, the music, alot of his music is from what he heard growing up and anyway rap or any song is the words over music,if you listen to jazz you will find that its sampled more than any other music, thats were jb got his.
I don't know why you got thumbs down. You make good points.
Did the people who gave you thumbs-down know that composers like Bach and Brahams used popular melodies from their time and worked them into their compositions?
People need to realize something: sampling began when sampling became POSSIBLE. Every generation of artists utilizes the most successful memes from the previous generation around them to create their own art. This art in turn is "sampled" by the next generation, etc.
I'm white as hell and I need, need, NEED a clear copy of just that JB's song; The Grunt! (I have this same segment still saved on my XM inno, and I'm not deleting it until I find that song. The segment was great, as was Patrice's stint as a substitute!)
