Hey I must say Richard was given such a well chosen name Dick Dawk-ins a firmly religious person accept for one thing,

he calls his God by many names;

It's quite clear that the bible is full of contradictions which cannot even be explained by theologians. Only God may understand them as not being contradictory. But to say that they're not contradictory, requires faith in God.

In other words: First believe in a God, then that he wrote a book, then that everything in that book is perfect. Not the other way around. Meaning, that you cannot defend the bible by saying that it has some intrinsic truth, without requiring others to 'already believe'.
