Can I just say, Preeya Kalidas (The Narrator) was asked to play the part by Andrew Lloyd Webber. I know most of you don't like her, but she didn't audition, she was asked because she was in Bombay Dreams and she was fantastic. She is a brilliant performer and this just happened to be a unfortunately bad performance for her. I think she's perfectly suited for the part, and I'm sure if anyone has a problem with her, Webber will be more than happy for you to audition, if you think you can do better

I agree - she (Preeya) is out of tune. The Narrator role is a big one - she wasn't suited to it. Janet Metz (Canadian Cast '92) is the best Narrator I've seen in all of the professional productions of Joseph.

Lee Mead was very excited on the opening night of Joseph since you can see from his facial expressions when he plays Joseph from this song and many others throughout this production wich is based off of Donny Osmond,Phillip Schofield, Jason Donovan, and Michael Damian.All 4 of those people have played Joseph through the years Donny and Michael played Joseph in the U.S.A., Jason Donovan and Phillip Schofeild have played Joseph in London and all 4 of those people got to wear the same coat!

The matinee performance is at 1:00 p.m. and the final show is at 6:30 p.m. after that,the show will be closed for 3 to 4 months starting December 1st,2009! So I have 2 more days as Joseph! MichaelDamian was an ok Joseph you can't forget Michael Damian and Jason Donovan he was my favorite Joseph for a while and then I really couldn't stand his version of Joseph I borrowed the CD off my sister and never gave it back! I called my sister after school one day and told her that her Joseph CD was scratched by accident she actually forgave me eventhogh it was an accident and then she bought me my own copy as a replacement eventhogh it was meant for herself! I saw the play with Donny Osmond with my mom and dad when I was little and I also saw the movie version on TV starring Donny Osmond and when I was little, they showed the making of the play on TV and I still have it on tape I also own the movie musical version of Joseph on vhs(taped from TV) and on DVD! unfortunately there was never a dvd or CD of the joseph performances. The Really Useful Group which have the rights to Joseph felt there were already enough CDs and the DVD with Donny Osmond.

I have seen many professional versions of Joseph. The best Narrator's by far have been Janet Metz (original Canadian cast) and Kelli Rabke (US 1993 Tour). Preeya sings well (listen to the audio) - but her acting/dancing is awful, the role is too big for her.
