i really like the idea and think it would work great for squirrel. Chaining it to the train was great because a coon would run off with it but its really unlikely that it will still be in the trap. not trying to be a dick just saying.
i have 4 of these, i set them out last weekend no luck, set them out today and will check them tommarrow,i bet they would do better in a more urbanized environment like a backyard

Have to agree with the shorter intro bit. I got the same idea from Dave Canterberry a month or so back. Still like your video.
Two suggestions: One is to smudge them instead of spray paint them. Two is to put them up into the tree a bit. In most states that is the law for trapping anyway. At least six feet off the ground is the usual. No unintended catches that way.
when somebody told you treating animals wrong is good he was wrong. All lives in the world are treated bad everyday, you are not the only one. You dont need to add cruelty. Good people are tryin to make this world a place to live for us. You kno what im sayin. Just let other lives not suffer. I hope you will be kind.
Any tips on actually getting it to work? The best results i've had its breaking their arms and then later i was able to hit the squirrel with a large rock and kill it because it was unable to climb trees.
@InKa4484 Its been my personal experience (with Red Squirrels) that they are too far into the trap when it goes off, causing them a broken back or a long fight to get away. I'm thinking a bigger trigger platform so they are not as deep into it when it goes bang and will get them in the head. I'm also going to check on some different traps. FYI - Peanut butter works great for squirrels.
@Rifleman1964 Well the gray ones don't go far enough into the trap and that's my problem. Either i break their arms and they run off to die or they set the trap off and then eat the peanut butter which is the only thing i use for them or mice.
Well bud thats ur opion and i respect that, but im not taking credit for this its simply an idea and a method that im passing on, heck man it costs me my own money to make these vids and run the site. Im just a guy passing on ideas, if you think that way i guess im wrong making primitive traps cuz i aint a caveman and show how to make a ghillie suit makes me suck cuz i aint a scottish ghillie. those are just traditions im passing on. Heck you would have to tell your math teacher she sucks...
cuz she didn't discover algebra, or tell a heart surgeon that he can perform open heart surgery cuz he didnt invent it. And bud if u dont like the vids that fine you can voice that. but dont go off telling me that i suck cuz everything gets taught by some to another person and thats what im trying to do. Just educating people and passing on the way of life that i was brought up into. n i used these traps to stop nuisance animals on our farm such as rats and birds, since i can barely remember...
and yes Dave Canterbury showed me how i cud use it in a survival situation and im just passing the info. thats what this is all about for me to educate people who have questions and if i aint got the answer, heck bud ill just send them ur way.

You should put screws in the rat trap so the rat trap does not jump when it goes off. Other then that it was awesome.

@InKa4484 Im starting to think this isn't such a good idea. Are you using the same Victor traps he is in the video?
Rifleman1964 2 months ago
@Rifleman1964 I was, i quit using them about a year ago because i was having no luck. I'm gonna buy a few havaheart traps later.
