  • i think lars would not have liked that right after his interview they played a Motley Crue video and that was the band that they kind of despised.

  • at that time cliff was alive???

  • Alcoholica¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • mmm, who's that long-haired chick?

  • i still have every single (80s) album..........the picture discs...theres no cover, the cover is printed on the vinyl itself :D (kill em all, ride the lightning, master of puppets, creeping death and a limited edition one with only 2 tracks on it) i bet i could sell em for decent money today :D

  • i want those shoeees goddaaaammmmmmmmmmmmn

  • lol i got that . origenal lp casset ///

  • Lol at how they played motley crue after the interview.

  • this is actual a decent interview of Lars, he is still humble here, cause the fame really hasn't hit yet. He is having a conversation and a dialogue... it's great

  • @HackSlashKill He's more like this now that he's older and alot more grown up, in the 90s he was a prick.

  • waw, at their prime MOP best album!! legendary!

  • Even back then, Lars had an open mind that Metallica doesn't stick to one "label" (ex: Thrash Metal). So to everyone who hates 'Load' and everything after "Justice" and/or "The Black Album" because they "changed", HA! Lar's even told you back in '86 that they do whatever they want, whenever they want. Long live METALLICA!

  • they didn't do a video for Puppets!!!!

  • Anyone who has read the book about Metallica by Mick Wall? Is it a book that hates on Metallica or is it something else? When I read a preview of it it seemed to me that he is hating on the band and reveals all of the dirty stuff they have done? Does he hold a personal grudge against Metallica or does he just want to make money?

  • Such a nice interview...then Motley Crue came...

  • everything hes saying is basically anti black album, fucker, i wish cliff never died, could you see cliff cutting his hair and going through that pussy 90s phase they went through, he was rolling in his grave

  • @BBOZ83 i agree

  • @BBOZ83 Lars and James contributed more to the music than Cliff tho. If Lard and James matured I'm sure Cliff would have too since Cliff isn't the most responsible for most of the heavy music. Actually, I think Cliff brought to the music the most classical kinda of music on the Puppets album. Cliff was the least metal in that sense

  • @bretzagar i kinda see your point but james has even said a lot of the riffs from those albums cliff wrote and lars just mostly helped with the arrangements and song structures, cliff had the most ''fuck you'' attitude of any of them, he was the biggest presence of that band, if the black album would have been a complete failure, they woulda went back to ripping our faces off

  • 3:13 Are you kidding me? That fruitcup was lying through his teeth. He's never heard of Kill Em All what a liar

  • It's not ]v[etallic/[ interwiev. It's "5 and a half minutes with Lars U." show :D

  • Why be ashamed of being called thrash? I mean, metal IS a label, right? Rock IS a label? POP too, right? At least, he finally realized that yes, THEY started thrash, but Lars, you also like to categorize: remember your NWOBHM compilation?

  • how come lars isn't eating? :)))

  • @calin10908060 cocaine :)

  • this interview was before that cliff dies?

  • @diegoaer Yes, Cliff was still alive at this point, he died on the 13th day of the tour.

  • I've seen this dude in a few other interviews (Ozzy-Behind The Music, Iron Maiden-Classic Albums) and he was bald and had a goatee. This is the first time I've seen him with hair and clean shaven. Lol.

  • cool video, never seen before thx!

  • It's videos like this that make me very happy with the internet!

  • too bad that tour led to cliffs death

  • And THE CRUE right after a metallica interview! lol priceless

  • wait did he just call RTL the first album and lars agreed??? wtf lololol

  • @qu7aker i think lars was being nice and not correcting him lol

  • @KillJoy353 yea lol

  • @qu7aker Well you have to remember Kill Em All was released on a independent label so by 1986 it was basically out of print. So to many people Ride The Lightning was the first album they had access to because it was released on Elecktra records. In 1988 Kill Em All was rereleased on Elecktra records

  • @ley98 yea i know lol.

  • RIDE THE LIGHTNING IS THE SECOND ALBUM, KILL EM ALL WAS THE FIRST OFFICIAL ALBUM LOL

  • Lars is fucking high! Haha look at his eyes :)

  • @addelithoe Yep... Back when Metallica was always baked

  • tafuck is axl rose doing here

  • @wtfjaftw If it wasnt 4 Lars there wouldent b no Metallica

  • @THRASHM3TAL2011

    truth

  • @THRASHM3TAL2011 How do you know? James would still form a good band at some point.

  • I was born in '86. Master of Puppets, Reign in Blood and Peace Sell but Who's Buying? were all released that year. I think it was an omen ;)

  • @cabalofdemons jealousy. pure jealousy.

  • @cabalofdemons i was born in 86 as well, it was a great yr for metal

  • I have gotten something out of all of Metallica's albums! Probably... no definitely the greatest band to be formed and come plowing out of the 1980s...btw I wasnt born till 92:)

  • RIP CLIF

  • Kill em All.Never heard of it.

  • DAMN I love his laugh and his smile <3 Lars is a mega babe!!!!!!!!!! ;) His face at 0:06 XD

  • So fucking cool! Lars is so mellow and grown-up here, for being only 22. Maybe he has changed somewhat on the surface, but I'll say he's a great guy!

  • This is an awesome video... thanks for sharing! This is brilliant stuff! Even back in 1986 - before the release of MOP - Lars specifically said that they were not "just" thrash... incredibly, people still were surprised they changed sound over the years...

I think Metallica and Lars gave people a fair warning... hehe!

    Good stuff!

    Cheers

  • Wrong! "One" -vid was released in 1989! Everyone should know by now!

  • @gxz haha! I didnt really care, he can be an asshole all he want. I just don't care for glam rock, and ridiculous glam rock music videos

  • I've been searching for those Monster of Rock shows forever! Is there any chance those can be made into a torrent or something?

I used to watch those back then, had the VHS compilation like most kids at the time and I would love to see that again, the tape has been lost since forever...

  • @dungeonvic There are some clips out there from 87 (Donington, England), and Monsters of rock-tour (US, summer of 88)

  • @Docteur666 Thanks doctor! I was actually referring to the TV show "Monsters of Rock", where the interview comes from.

  • High as a muh fuh!!! xD

  • hell yeah, Lars picked Jailbreak by AC/DC, AMAZING CHOICE!

  • is it still hardcore, heavy? its the best f*****g album of all time.

  • @HIJAzez Ok,now we have jack black's account.
