@michillin212 I applied this through a net curtain to give it a rough texture to stop it from (sticking to the acrylic). Its applied to the projection screen. I wouldn't recommend my method, try something like youtube(dot)com/watch?v=vvO_lvyDGVo
so i'm interested in building one of these... but i'm still unsure on some things.... the table is a receptor for touch, but what send the data (pictures, videos) to the surface table itself??
The top of the surface is a projection screen material, then there is a layer of silicone, then there is acrylic. So the IR ight isnt going through any projection material. There are other ways to set these up where you do have lots of IR and it does shine through the projection screen.
in IR is trapped in the acrylic, due to total internal reflection. The IR LEDs are shining into the sides of the acrylic. When the silicon is pressed down onto the acrylic surface is breaks the internal reflection and IR light shines downwards into the webcam.
close, but you need acryllic(plexiglass, its best for the job) and Ir leds. The leds project infra-red light into the acryllic, then when you touch the table, your pinger(s) break the path of the ir and the camera picks this up, also, dont forget to remove the infra-red filter on the camera, and the higher the FPS on the web cam, the better results you will get.
I might take a LCD monitor apart to create it... Its alot easier but more expensive if you dont have an LCD screen lying around. You just need the webcam, LCD screen, diffuser, and a light... yet again, thx alot!
Thanks for all your help! I made a multitouch screen with just my webcam, a pane of glass, and a remote control LED! Have any place where you can get a projector? or a diffuser sheet? Also I need to know how to put together some LEDs... I know I will definatly need accuall glass but I just want to thank you for your helP!
I had to borrow a projector. I used polyester drafting film (sometimes know as mylar) for a diffuser, got it from a small copy shop. I suggest asking about the LED setup on the NUIgroup forums (link in description), as youtype doesn't let me post URLs with information in the comments section.
Thanks alot... again! I found some projectors on Ebay that I might buy or I can take apart my LCD screen and use that. Once again thanks and I hope my Multitouch table comes out as good as yours!
How powerful of a comp do you need? What would th price be... I am getting a laptop soon so if my comp is powerful enough i could convert it into this
Although this video doesn't mention it, I know that the photographs have been called in from Flickr, using tags. If the PC hooked up tot he table had a live internet connection, how easy/difficult would it be to allow the user to enter a tag to load a new set of images?
I very want to put my dick on this thing and move it move it. DICKFLAMEZ

joobs, is the surface just acrylic or do you use paper, because I can't see how you get the Web Cam to detect the IR through paper, can it?

that's great, and the silicone and the projection screen goes on top of the Acrylic? That won't make it harder to interrupt the IR beams?

why not just put a webcam and projector under the table, I mean the projector is also the light for the webcam

Í already got my touchpad setup but how do you actually build this with a projector?
do you take a glass table und put the projektor next to the webcam unter your table?
TheGeeTar 3 years ago
put tracing paper ontop the glass and the camera and projector go underneath in a suitable place

That is running on 2.2ghz (single core), 1gb ram, win XP. Can be a bit slow at times, 3ghz recommended.
Joobs 4 years ago
yeah I have a 2.66GHz CPU, 1.5GB RAM, Win Vista... I just would need to know what program or software you need to use...

Check out the forums on nuigroup for more details on how to make your own and the software development(i've added the link in the video description)
