there is one thing that is bothering me when it comes to the dragon balls. Shenron says that he can't grant any wish that goes beyond kami/dende's power. doesn't that mean that kami or dende could walk up to a dead person and revive him. or give a guy a the best girl panties in the world from nowhere.

@justiswhite Thats foolish Funamation had nothing to do with any story at all. Funimation just dubbed it into english. The original story was a manga(japanesse comic) called Dragonball written by Akirya Toryiama and yes it went up to the Majin Buu Saga.

@TuxaiaZ It took his base level higher. His inner capabilities are maxed out, at base. Except transformations MULTIPLY your base power, so saying that his regular form is higher than his powered-up Super Saiyan form is a little derpy.
@cookechris28 I believe it was because his body couldn't take it. SSJ multiplies power by a huge amount. It's the same reason why Goku doesn't use both Kiao Ken and SSJ at the same time. His body can't physically take it for any extended periods of time, if at all.
@mycroftism Well then explain the higher transformations? If Goku couldn't take a regular power-up and a kaio-ken stacked on top, then how could he handle his super saiyan three form? If SSJ2 is such a huge strain, then how does he maintain it for several episodes before reverting?
@cookechris28 SImple. Goku's body gradually becomes more accustomed to the greater levels of power. This is why they need training. Kiao ken and SSJ are rapid power increases rather a gradual one. He achieves SSJ 3 because he was able to allow his body to sustain it for a short period of time (as shown when he can't hold the form for very long and when he talks about real bodies taking more energy than afterlife ones). Kiao Ken has a similar effect, but you can also become gradually used to it.
@mycroftism He's used kiao ken rapidly and constantly during the fight with Vegeta, and until the end of the Frieza Saga, by your logic, that would more than likely make him accustomed to it. Agreed, the kiao ken is a much more risky technique, but it makes no sense regarding your reasoning behind it.
@cookechris28 He's used to the power output from his normal state Kiao Ken, not in his SS state. Kiao Ken is risky because it multiplies your power beyond your normal level, the same thing as SS. The higher up you go, the more dangerous it becomes to use the techniques. It all makes perfect sense. Once goku is strong enough to achieve Kiao Ken + SS, he can already achieve SS2. The same applies for SS2 to SS3. I also never said he couldn't, just that he wouldn't because of the risk
@cookechris28 This is why goku can use it during almost his entire fight with frieza. Gohan had just been awakened, meaning he couldn't just because a super saiyan without destroying his body. This would be a similar feature to why Vegito doesn't simply become an Ascended saiyan.
The reason he doesn't go SSJ2 + kiao ken or anything like that is because the next SSJ lvl is always better.
@mycroftism Both their bodies have gone BEYOND ascended saiyan, so it wouldn't make any sense for them to not easily (because they have combined energies now) boost their power into the ascended form. And well, what about a SSJ3? If Goku's power wasn't high enough to beat Kid Buu at SSJ3, then why didn't he use the kiao ken?
@cookechris28 Vegito and Fusions in general are special cases IMO. We dont know how they're changed because of the fusion. But as stated, going SS at higher power levels is often too much for their bodies. I really don't see your inconsistency here. Cite a place where they show these inconstancies.

I don't know why people are saying Gohan gets weaker. If you read the Manga it says Mystic Gohan is as strong as SSJ3. Him and Goku were the strongest in the series.

@WNSD14 its because people were so obsessed with goku. goku was actually meant to die and stay dead during the cell games. but because he was so popular, the developers decided to bring him back to fight in the tournament and go ss3. even then, he was supposed to go back so that gohan and gotenks could kill buu. once again, the fans lost their shit and this resulted in gohan being damn near useless, even though he is technically the strongest person in the whole dbz universe

@WNSD14 to be honest. gohan turning ssj 2 against cell was one of my favorite moments of all time in any anime. nothing beats the moment when gohan first turns ssj 2 and just starts scraping cell. and to see gohan get so weak, in this next saga.. yeah it sucks. i get how it's to help build up the up coming saga, but come on.. watching ssj gohan when i was a kid was epic. I hope they make some kind of dbz spin off where gohan/goten stays strong. (spinning off where dbz left off. not gt.)

It's only because the FANS pressured AT during the Buu saga to make Goku the strongest once more because they wanted him to be the main character again. It's not his fault, its the other fags who didn't stop riding Goku's dick at the time. Also, GT is filler, don't even bother with it.

Its kind of Ironic that the Supreme Kai is stunned and thinks that this makes Gohan the strongest. Meanwhile Vegeta and Goku are both stronger than him at this point probably thinking "wow hes really let himself go, I expected him to be stronger." Well that part about Vegeta being stronger might be debatable, because I don't think he has the ability to be SS2 just yet until he uses the power of Majin. But i'm just not in the mood for a debate so keep that opinion to yourself.

@Zaiden00 It says in the FUNimation magazine that GT was going to be made fully by the orignal DB creator but then they quit and made the dragon quest games... the original DB creator made all the may through the Bebi saga and that was supposed to be the end.the Omega Shenron was never supposed to be made. And they made DB:GT to add the comedy from DB back unlike DBZ and its stiff non comedy self.

@justiswhite Thats foolish Funamation had nothing to do with any story at all. Funimation just dubbed it into english. The original story was a manga(japanesse comic) called Dragonball written by Akirya Toryiama and yes it went up to the Majin Buu Saga.

@cookechris28 I believe it was because his body couldn't take it. SSJ multiplies power by a huge amount. It's the same reason why Goku doesn't use both Kiao Ken and SSJ at the same time. His body can't physically take it for any extended periods of time, if at all.

@cookechris28 SImple. Goku's body gradually becomes more accustomed to the greater levels of power. This is why they need training. Kiao ken and SSJ are rapid power increases rather a gradual one. He achieves SSJ 3 because he was able to allow his body to sustain it for a short period of time (as shown when he can't hold the form for very long and when he talks about real bodies taking more energy than afterlife ones). Kiao Ken has a similar effect, but you can also become gradually used to it.

Agreed, the kiao ken is a much more risky technique, but it makes no sense regarding your reasoning behind it.

@cookechris28 He's used to the power output from his normal state Kiao Ken, not in his SS state. Kiao Ken is risky because it multiplies your power beyond your normal level, the same thing as SS. The higher up you go, the more dangerous it becomes to use the techniques. It all makes perfect sense. Once goku is strong enough to achieve Kiao Ken + SS, he can already achieve SS2. The same applies for SS2 to SS3. I also never said he couldn't, just that he wouldn't because of the risk

@cookechris28 This is why goku can use it during almost his entire fight with frieza. Gohan had just been awakened, meaning he couldn't just because a super saiyan without destroying his body. This would be a similar feature to why Vegito doesn't simply become an Ascended saiyan.
The reason he doesn't go SSJ2 + kiao ken or anything like that is because the next SSJ lvl is always better.

@mycroftism Both their bodies have gone BEYOND ascended saiyan, so it wouldn't make any sense for them to not easily (because they have combined energies now) boost their power into the ascended form. And well, what about a SSJ3? If Goku's power wasn't high enough to beat Kid Buu at SSJ3, then why didn't he use the kiao ken?
Too many inconsistencies, not enough constants.
