You have no idea what your doing. Live sand is the best to use and you can't to mix saltwater in the tank. you are supposed to use RO water when making saltwater because the dechlorinator doesn't get rid of all the stuff that can and will kill your fish. Do you even hav test kits.

I would install the airstone first at the bottom of the tank before adding gravel so the bubbles would flow through the gravel for a more natural looking effect

@ValleyGrower420 have you let your tank cycle? If you stock your aquarium with too many fish before it cycles they will die off as the ammonia and nitrites in the water wont be broken down, your essentially poisoning the fish. Cycling is basically letting beneficial bacteria build up to break down fish waste and those harmful chemicals, you can also buy additives to speed up this process slightly but still may take quite a while! best of luck!

add more gravel a good estimate i made up. Length x Width divided by 10 = how many pounds of gravel you should use. For an example your tank is ten gallons/ 20" by 10". so 20 x 10 = 200 then divided by 10 is 20, so you should use 20 pounds of gravel at least!

my gravel set up is different but. yea. my first tank setup besides a bowl was a 10 gal with a pleco and goldfish. gold died then i got a dalmation molly albino cory catfish ghost shrimp and a platy. my gravel set up is like somegravel, sand, shell's, and some plastic rocks that r big. my catfish seems to liek the parts where there is nothing but glass. but yeah.

You need to rinse the filter pad out BEFORE adding it to the tank. Otherwise you'll have a ton of carbon in the water and it looks oily.

using 10 is asking for anaerobic bacteria to develop in the bed and suffocate ur fish by hydrogen sulfide.

mind you with the flow coming out of that filter that problem may not occur. watch your gravel for black sludge and bubbles at the lower bits.

tetratec or wisper sucks when i had my one it shot out black decaed amooniea and made amoniea level 5.0 ,,,, it almost killed my tank i had to clean it 4 times

(fish was out befor the whole thing happend but i changed it to the most popular filter aquaclear 20 not that silent but strong water flow and even has white rock stuff.... it's for bio filtreation,...

the filter cartridge needs to be rinsed first!!! the chemicals in it will harm your fish.
