It's probably good that many of these guys were busted. Doing things the right way matters though. in this case both perverted justice and dateline NBC were acting as vigilante organizations and the cops were working with them. Suspects were not mirandized before being questioned and it was not made clear to them that Hanson was not a cop. Hansen was however impersonating a police officer and should probably be charged with doing so. I believe all suspects from these busts must be released.

It's probably good that many of these guys were busted. Doing things the right way matters though. in this case both perverted justice and dateline NBC were acting as vigilante organizations and the cops were working with them. Suspects were not mirandized before being questioned and it was not made clear to them that Hanson was not a cop. Hansen was however impersonating a police officer and should probably be charged with doing so. I believe all suspects from these busts must be released.

While there is no defense for the actions of these men (pedophiles) the law must be followed. When any member of law enforcement willingly turns over an investigation to an entertainment show you have what happened here. This "report" is a joke. Listen to the interview with the two 'disgusted' ex-cops. Notice how they never mentioned that at no point in time they never voiced their concerns about proper procedures. They wanted to be on TV, 20/20 was another oppurtunity.
